Playing time breakdown: Tigers clear bench in GT blowout

by - Staff Writer -

All but one of Clemson's travel squad saw the field in a 73-7 beatdown of Georgia Tech in Atlanta Saturday.

DJ Uiagalelei picks up that distinction of not playing after the coaches held him for shoulder tightness, in a game where the Tigers played punter and former high school QB Will Spiers seven snaps as signal-caller.

A number of young defenders returned to the mix after at least one game off the field with safety Joseph Charleston (28), defensive tackle Tre Williams (11), defensive end Greg Williams (9), linebacker Kevin Swint (9), linebacker Sergio Allen (6) and linebacker Keith Maguire (6).

Receiver Joseph Ngata continues to work his way back from an early-season abdominal injury, playing just five snaps with one catch for six yards.

Highly-rated freshman offensive tackle Walker Parks continues to get his share of snaps after a career-high 48 Saturday.
