far away from actually doing something at Omaha, but then I see these teams trotting out arm after arm throwing gas at 97 mph, and following up with 83 mph sliders (and throwing both for strikes), and I'm wondering if Knaak would even be their Wednesday guy.
Yep, and without the ARMS our chances were slim to none of making it to Omaha!!! Our Tigers had a pretty good team this past season, we just didn't have the arms that could have made it a special team this past season...
One thing I notice is our guys would start off with a count of 0-2 and then start throwing balls to try to get the batter to chase a bad pitch...instead of trusting your arm and the defense behind you by going in with a third strike. They go 0-2, then first thing you know it's a full count...then a walk. Instead of 3-4 pitches per batter, you end up throwing 10-12 (with foul balls) and putting the runner on. That makes you face another batter.
If every pitcher did that, it has to be coaching and/or pitch-calling.
