I agree. I’ve grown to really like that one with a pickled okra and shrimp garnish

I am partial to Mr and Mrs T spicy but I am not a fan of horseradish, so I can be satisfied with V8 and vodka.

Natural Blonde out of CHS also pretty tasty and hits a little different with golden tomatoes.

Bloody Point Remedy out of Daufuskie Island. It has caffeine and vitamin B 12 in it. Flavor is best I’ve had and gives you that morning boost.

I bought a Playboy Bar Guide in 1970 which had many good recipes - particularly good was the Bloody Mary, so I've always made my own rather then buying the mix. I no longer have the book, so I googled it and found only a German translation on line - so I put it through the translator and it looks like this:
1 Stange Staudensellerie (ca. 20 cm lang) Eiswürfel 5 cl Wodka 1 cl frisch gepresster Zitronensaft 1 BL Worcestershiresauce 2–4 Tropfen Tabasco 1 Prise Selleriesalz 1 Prise frisch gemahlener Pfeffer 15 cl Tomatensaft
Translation:
1 stalk of celery (approx. 20 cm long) Ice cube 5 cl vodka 1 cl freshly squeezed lemon juice 1 BL Worcestershire sauce 2–4 drops Tabasco 1 pinch of celery salt 1 pinch of freshly ground pepper 15 cl tomato juice
In case you're wondering, 1 cl = .3519508 oz - so:
1 stalk of celery (approx. 20 cm long) Ice cube 1.759754 oz vodka .3519508 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice 1 BL Worcestershire sauce 2–4 drops Tabasco 1 pinch of celery salt 1 pinch of freshly ground pepper 5.279262 oz tomato juice
Now, I don't know what "BL" as a recipe quantity could mean. I don't think it could be the common "Barrel", or "Bottle" of Worcestershire, so you're on your own here - I'd suggest a few drops to taste.... ">
In any event it makes a good Bloody Mary!

I had the pleasure of visiting Cuba in 1978 in the first group of Americans allowed to visit with a US Visa since the Bay of Pigs. I went via sport fishing boat from Key West to Barlavento Marina Harbor in Havana to fish in the Earnest Hemingway Memorial Marlin Tournament.
While there in Havana for a week, I spent an afternoon in La Floradita bar, supposedly where Hemingway invented the original Margarita cocktail - and being Cuba, it was served without ice. Being a well-rounded drinker, Hemingway had ideas for many cocktails.
Here's a classic from Earnest Hemingway for the perfect Bloody Mary:
Hemingway Bloody Mary Recipe Recipe: To a large pitcher (anything smaller is “worthless”) add: 1 chunk of ice (the biggest that will fit) 1 pint of vodka 1 pint chilled tomato juice 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1 jigger fresh lime juice Pinch celery salt Pinch cayenne pepper Pinch black pepper Several drops of Tabasco
“Keep on stirring and taste it to see how it is doing. If you gets it too powerful weaken with more tomato juice. If it lacks authority add more vodka.”
From a letter to Bernard Peyton signed April 5, 1947 by Ernest Hemingway

It’s really all about the vodka. Reyka is my fav and not expensive. I use V8, hot sauce, celery salt and a dash of Worcestershire.

Home-made for me - Clamato juice, celery salt, worcestershire sauce to taste, a couple dashes of Texas Pete (or your choice), and a dash of pickle juice. Mix 1/2 - 1/2 with your vodka choice and garnish as desired.
