Deshaun Watson Sunday injury update |
Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney said on his Sunday teleconference that quarterback Deshaun Watson will be in a green jersey at Monday's practice. Green jersey means no contact but Clemson doesn't hit quarterbacks in practice anyway so that would mean that Watson will be doing all the drills and participate in all of practice. Swinney said they will see where Watson is and then go from there.
"He's got to be able to do what we need him to do from a passing game standpoint and the run game, " Swinney said. "He can't be a sitting duck back there. He's got to be able to move, scramble, run and all that stuff. We have to evaluate that and see where he is. I'm anxious to see him tomorrow just like everybody else is. He's had two or three days where he has been off of it so we will see at practice. " Swinney said that they will have Cole Stoudt ready to go and and prepare him to be the starter and see where Watson is with his recovery as the team goes through the week.
