Information for Clemson's annual Tigerama |
CLEMSON — The annual Tigerama pep rally Friday will kick off the Clemson University Homecoming weekend festivities with a growl and a bang.
The event, produced entirely by students, will take place in Death Valley. It will also be live-streamed online at http://bit.ly/CULIVE . “Being in Death Valley is hands down the best venue for Tigerama,” said 2017 Tigerama director Samuel Reinert. “It was the original venue of the show, so it’s awesome to bring that tradition back. “Tigerama is a pep rally, so being able to celebrate the football team where they play is second to none. There’s also just such a cool feeling of seeing a show in Death Valley. The setup is very intimate and really gets you excited for the homecoming game the next day.” This year’s Tigerama theme is “Orange Crush.” “On January 9th, 2017, one play put the Clemson Tigers back on top. The name of that historic play was Orange Crush. The 61st rendition of Tigerama honors our National Championship Tigers and the way we ‘crush on Clemson’ when Homecoming rolls around,” said Reinert. The show will feature Clemson’s cheerleaders, Rally Cats, Tiger band, the gospel choir, the football team, a skit competition and special guest alumni. Miss Homecoming will be announced during the show, as well. The show will end with a fireworks display, a 61-year Tigerama tradition. Tickets will also be sold on Library Bridge from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m daily this week. Tickets can also be purchased on TicketMaster and the Hendrix Student Center box office. On the day of the show, tickets may be purchased at the West End Zone box office. “Clemson is special because of the traditions that we uphold which separate us from other schools, and Tigerama is one of those traditions,” Reinert said. “Tigerama is the second-largest student led pep rally in the nation, and Clemson shouldn’t be second best at anything. Why not come and try to make us the largest student led pep rally in the nation?” The show will begin at 7 p.m. Gate 9 at Memorial Stadium will open at 6 p.m. Pre-event activities will take place in front of the Oculus from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Activities will include performances by the Blue Ridge Bandits, appearances by members of the baseball team, face-painting, a cake walk and prize giveaways.
