I am afraid there are no good options
Apr 25, 2025, 9:28 PM

When this many players are struggling at the plate who do you sit & who do you play? I have no good answers. There really are no options on the bench that are any better than the players who are currently playing. I was wondering do the majority of you think it’s just a lack of offensive talent on this team or the coaches just not getting the most out of these players? Once again I don’t have a good answer. I have noticed that we continue to have a very poor approach at the plate. Once again is that on the players or coaching staff. At some point it’s up to the players to perform, right. Sorry for going on & on. I just tying to find some answers.

The players are fine. It’s baseball. No other game is this streaky.

I am getting a little tired of the it’s just baseball mentality. If you can’t see the real issues with this team at this point then you my friend are burying your head in the sand. This team currently couldn’t hit their way out of a wet paper sack. I hate to be so blunt & gloomy but what else can you conclude. Are any of you that just thinks it’s just baseball paid any attention to the batting averages on this team? They are near the bottom of the ACC.

Fire the coach?
Or just cancel the rest of the season?

Everything is with the extreme with you people. No one is saying fire the coach. Man, get a grip! I love coach EB & I think we are luck to have him. You people act like regardless of the performance on the field no one can voice any type of concerns about issues with this team. Which by the way all teams have their issues. And, God forbid you criticize anything at all or you are immediately labeled the lunatic fringe around here. These must be the same people who can never take any type of criticism at all without crumbling somewhere in the corner. You know why some of us continue to talk about concerns & issues with this team. It isn’t because we enjoy being negative, at least that is my case, no it’s because we care so much & we want this team to each it’s full potential so very badly & it’s very frustrating seeing them under performing. Critiquing a team does not make you a bad fan. In fact never being able to critique anything negative makes you less than pragmatic.

You literally said you are “getting tired of” fans saying it’s just baseball.
My question is… Why is your goal here?
Will you feel better and go away if everyone starts saying Clemson sucks at baseball?
Just trying to understand what you’re going for here. Because you seem very passionate about it.

I am very passionate about baseball. College baseball is my second favorite sport behind college football. My point is just throwing out the old term of “well it’s just baseball “ seems like an excuse to not acknowledge some basic concerns about this team. It’s like just grossing over things. Also, it doesn’t have to be one extreme to the other. I never said this team sucks. But, it seems it’s either never say anything critical & pretend there are no problems or you can mention them & people tell you stop saying the sky is falling. It almost is never black & white.

Feel free to say what you like. But, it’s also not necessary to attack someone & question them just because they say something that is deemed negative. I am not being negative just for the sake of being negative & I really don’t like being negative. It would be nice even if you disagree that some could at least acknowledge, you know I can see some of your points. Don’t necessarily agree but I can see your perspective.

Sorry. One last response & I will shut up. I promise! Look I am not an unreasonable person so I acknowledge that my frustration may cloud my perception sometimes & it probably is something I need to work on. So understand I am not tying to be combative.

I appreciate the passion. I think you both are saying the same thing (kinda, sort of).
If we can't bat well against quality pitching on the road (Wolphies are ranked in top 25) then we have difficulty winning a series on the road against quality pitching.
Go Tigers!
P.S. As a Braves fan we started 0-7...LOL
Per Google AI: The Atlanta Braves started the 2025 season with an 0-7 record. They have yet to win a game, but it is not unheard of for teams to start slowly and still make the playoffs. In fact, there have been 14 teams in MLB history to start 0-4 or worse and still reach the postseason. No team has ever started 0-7 and made the playoffs, however.

I think it's a combination. EB knew they might struggle so the approach seemed to be to work the pitcher. Listi was leading the nation in 1st pitch takes, and it works somehow because he draws BB from 0-2 count often. Played more small ball earlier in the season and it worked. We don't seem to be doing either of those anymore. Way to many K's and bad plate apperances. But players haven't responded. B10 Fr of the year in his 3rd year should be better at least more consistent. Paino's K rate was big before he ever came to CU and it's gotten worse, but he can flash some leather. I would give Bissetta more time, because of his power potential alone at least play the matchup game. There is nobody in the lineup besides Priest who's a consistent power threat.
Are their players in the dugout whou COULD contribute? Probably, but who knows?!
1 Fr PP has played and he's a 2Way so he's pitching more than playing - may even and up a PO. This Fr class was EB's 1st full class and outside of pithcers everyone will be redshirted. They are talented, big and athletic so next year the team will look a lot different. Of course, some may Portal out due to the lack of playing (or even given a shot to play)

This is the first series of the year they have lost and the first time losing back to back games. Do you idiots not know anything about baseball? Just a little slump.

Here we go with the name calling. I don’t agree with you so you all must be idiots. Really. I convinced some of you can’t respond to anything by just simply stating your case. No you have to resort to name calling. Which I am a big boy, no big deal. But it does say s lot about you.
For a little perspective, I have watched every single baseball game this year unlike a lot who just look at the final score. I also played 2 years of baseball at a small college so I have some perspective from the playing position. If you know baseball there is a difference between a slump & just under performing.

C State to their credit took advantage. Yesterday pitching was good until our starter tired out. after coach pulled him it was easy to see why he left him in so long
