Bowl Projections for Clemson |
CBSSports.com has released its weekly bowl projections and Clemson (9-3, 6-2 ACC) is projected to play Missouri in the Citrus Bowl on Jan.1 in Orlando, Fla.
Several Clemson projections lately have shifted to the Citrus Bowl since the Citrus can leapfrog the Russell Athletic Bowl and grab Clemson if a Big Ten team (Michigan State) plays in the Orange Bowl. The four teams projected in the college football playoffs are Alabama (1) vs Baylor (4), and Oregon (2) vs Florida State (3). Clemson's in-state rival South Carolina is still projected in the Birmingham Bowl against Cincinnati. Other bowl projections - ESPN's Mark Schlabach has a projection of Clemson vs Oklahoma in the Russell Athletic Bowl while his colleague Brett McMurphy has a projection of Clemson vs Kansas State in the same bowl game. Foxsports.com has Clemson projected in the Citrus Bowl playing against Ole Miss and college football analyst Phil Steele and SI.com both agree with a Clemson vs Oklahoma matchup in the Russell Athletic Bowl.
