Kelly Bryant reaches out to Brice after win over Syracuse |
Chase Brice spoke with the media Monday discussing his rise in the depth chart after senior quarterback Kelly Bryant recently left the team.
Brice shared he was surprised just like most people were with the news that Bryant was going to transfer. "I was a little, as everybody was, surprised," he said. "But when people leave it gives other guys opportunity to step up. We wish him well." Bryant actually congratulated Brice on the impressive comeback against Syracuse. "Yeah, he sent me a text congratulating me and all that," he said. "I saw him after the game and he was happy for me. He gave me a hug. We keep in touch." Bryant's leadership was always top-notch as he helped Brice ease into being a quarterback at the collegiate level. "When I was being redshirted he was always helping me understand concepts, the playbook and things like that. Taking time out to help me. Our relationship has just grown becoming good friends off the field so I really appreciated that. "We would grab something to eat. We play video games together. We play 2k. Eat, talk, play 2k and text every now and then to keep up with each other." Click below to subscribe to TigerNet Videos:
