Why is Florida State so bad????

I mean they have talent. They probably have more talent than anyone else in the ACC, including Clemson. Why are they so bad? Is it coaching? or is it the players just don't gell with each other and play together as a a team?

They're average Coached and bought average players that couldn't start at average schools.

Their o line is historically bad. The outside talent is more than good enough but they never have time to do anything other than screens short routes. It seems every pass play their are 2 or 3 dlineman free rushing the qb.

They don't have too much talent. They have a huge drop off in offense they had last year. Obviously with quarterback, But there other skill position players particularly wide But there other skill position players particularly near is what they had But there other skill position players particularly near is what they had last year.

They don't have the talent. They lost a ton at the skill position players and they don't have a good quarterback So they're basically going out there with 1 arm tied behind their back.

devolves down throughout the team.
I like Mike Norvell, but I thought his decision to bring in DJU was badly misguided at best, and I believe there have been severe lacks of either talent or efforts in other positions.
Additionally, rebuilding was probably not the best time to launch a major war against the ACC...i.e. too many kettles on the fire.

and started him day one.
Dabo got stuck when Trevor was here because some of the top quarterbacks aspire to 3 yrs of college ball then the NFL draft afterwords. I believe the distraction of the NIL/Portal was confusing to that coach and he was in too deep before he realized the NIL/Portal method of recruiting isn't sustainable.
I'm not saying this will always be the results of recruiting from the portal but this might only be the worst case possible.
Harry, you're so right about DJ and what it does to a group of WRs. We know DJ was the best QB in the world when he was in a practice jersey. Unfortunately, when the ball is snapped and his fragile mind realizes the guys on the other side of the ball are going to hit him, he goes into survival mode and has brain farts.
Week after week of running routes in practice and getting the ball receivers face an opponent on Saturday with that same QB being clueless to checkdowns, decision making and any fraction of compentency.
All that takes the heart right out of a team. They go through the motions with a lack of direction. They feel the QB just doesn't care about winning, them or the team.

WR's can't catch. OL can't block. Having to play a redshirt freshman and a true freshman at QB behind a sieve of an OL and not having a game plan to try to combat that.
Other than that the OL looked great.

Mostly because of a horrific o-line. I'd lay the blame like this:
55% o-line decline
25% skill player decline
20% frosh QB

Norvell has never been a great coach. He is great at hiring an absolute shark of an agent. I'm just talking about what I see on the field.

Players have given up on the season. The last time their players were able to get up for a game and put forth 100% was vs Clemson and we broke them

Too many new faces mixed with a leadership gap in the locker room equals what we're seeing here. Ultimately that's on the head coach for amassing this roster in this way.
I don't think many gave Jordan Travis enough credit for being the heart and soul of that program the prior seasons. Not necessarily athletic ability, which he had, but the guidance and influence on his teammates. It's going to be even harder to find that going forward with so much turnover there.

Norvell is a very overrated HC.
They do not have more talent than Clemson OP. Based off what would you say that? Because the players came from the portal?
Every portal player isn't an upgrade.
FSU does have a salty defense. You really can't knock their defense - they just get tired b/c of the "comedy" going on with their offense and eventually give up points.
