As I watched and rooted for them yesterday as I always do, I keep coming back to what the team is missing. Valerie is "Elite" no doubt, McKenzie is exceptional, but we leave way to many runners on base. We never seem to get the clutch hits in games against bigtime opponents. UGA used at least 3 different pitchers and all of them were dominant against our hitters. They rarely gave anything to Val to hit and just overpowered everyone else after walking a batter or two. Coach Rittman has done a fantastic job and will get us to the top but not until we have a more consistent lineup. We will win alot of games and compete with anyone but we are missing hitters. JMHO

When I would leave men on base my dad would always say, "lights are too bright, huh" It would infuriate me. looking back, he was motivating me. He knew what we get me going. If i played pis*ed off i was him lol

There’s no doubt. We lost a little pop and situational hitting we had at times last year. It does tend to disappear against elite pitching. I’ve always felt that championships are built around the battery. Strong pitching with an elite catcher. The inability to manufacture a run cost us the game last night. We had many opportunities. Hopefully experience and time together (for the transfers) will solidify this group and push them further this year.

Don't mean to be like others here, but the lack of clutch hitting has been a common theme with this team since it's inception. What concerns me even more is the realization that this is it for Cagle and based on what I have seen the depth behind her is only serviceable at best, not dominating. Rittman will have his hands full in the next few years.

Too many "girly things" and "showing out" going on and not enough concentrating on the game. Too much funky upside down headwear, silly garb & pullovers and cheering like 10 year olds for me. We have one girl who concentrates intensely on walking a circle around the batters box after every pitch, sometimes to the point of delaying the game, then strikes out. Seems like misplaced concentration to me. Got another one wearing upside down goofy hats and leading cheers like a mad woman, then gets hammered and knocked out of the game when she plays. So many little "girly" things going on that it seems they might lose their focus on the real task at hand. If they want to be cheerleaders, get them a skirt, if they want to be ball players, then let's concentrate on what we are doing here gals.

Thank goodness, that one "girly" girl that walks around in a circle after every pitch smacked out a hit for our only RBI yesterday. Give me a freaking break, you do what it take to motivate yourself if you're an athlete which obviously you aren't. The UGA girls are on scholarship too & actually rated as a better team than ours. Yes we left numerous runners on base and need to improve this year in their 5th year of existence, but I bet they will. Spoiled much?

things going on? The baseball team plays loose and cuts up as well. These young women are collegiate athletes and cheering on their team keeps them engaged. Cheering in Fastpitch is part of the game...from youth leagues to elite travel teams...even Oklahoma cheers.
Also, when has Clark (she's the one that circles after each pitch btw) caused a delay in a game...you know there is now a pitch clock? Clark is hitting 0.341, she drove in the tying run last night and also went 2-4.
We had every chance to beat the Dawgs last night but we just couldn't get a clutch hit. Situational hitting has been a problem in big games. It is frustrating for the fans...even more so for the players.
My suggestion is if you don't like Fastpitch or Clemson SB just don't watch. 🤷🏻♂️

This team needs to focus on how to move runners and less on the cutesy stuff.
