Shaq Lawson's combine height, weight and arm length

Feb 26, 2016, 10:41 AM

I'm sure he was shooting for 6'3 270 lbs with 33 inch arms. That height and arm length are the ideal numbers. He fell just a hair short. I hope the scouts don't dock him for it since he came so close.

Docked for 1lb and 1/4"? You're being facetious, yes?

No way they worry about those meaningless little increments in his measurables . His 40 and his bench press are more important, in my opinion .

Totally agree Dug. Speaking of bench press, was anyone else surprised Derrick Henry, Mr. Weight Room himself, only put up 22? That was tied for 7th best so far out of the running backs tested today.

DeAndre Washington of Texas Tech is a little meathead. The kid is 5'8" 204lbs and did it 24 times! THAT is impressive.

Oh and they've been talking about Nila Kasitati from Oklahoma State also and how weak his bench is. A 6'3" 317lbs offensive linemen certainly should be able to pull off more than 12 reps. That was ridiculous.

Not expecting much from Shaq on the bench press

Feb 26, 2016, 2:23 PM [ in reply to Re: Shaq Lawson's combine height, weight and arm length ]

Just looking at his body (kinda pudgy in the middle and not much definition in the arms), he doesn't strike me as a big weight room kind of guy (sort of the anti-V. Beasley). He seems like he just has a lot of function strength and really know how to anchor his weight down so he doesn't get moved by O-linemen. I don't think I've ever seen him get blown off the ball by anybody in his entire career.

I figured he'd do maybe 21-23 reps on the bench. I'm noticing a lot of the bench press reps numbers are down a lot a the combine. Only 4 OL did more than 30 reps. There's usually a lot more guys who do more than that.
