Jan 8, 2008, 6:37 PM

Purple paws are against the rules as set by Clemson

Jan 8, 2008, 6:50 PM

Now, a purple helmet with an orange paw? THAT would rock.

Uh-oh! What will become of my Tiger rag, then?

The original Tiger Rags (from the 70s)...

Jan 8, 2008, 7:49 PM [ in reply to Uh-oh! What will become of my Tiger rag, then? ]

were made before the Paw was trademarked and before licensing existed. If you find one of those now, it's not licensed.

Yep, thats the 1 I'm talking about. "The Original" My brothe

I actually like that idea...

I was looking at some older pictures and noticed that we use to have colored paws (could not tell if they were black, navy, or purple). But it would be kind of cool for a change to put purple paws on the back.

On another note we really need to get the big paw back to its old size. The bigger paw on the side of the helmet looked much better.

How about white paws for on-field achievements and purple for off-field (classroom) achievements. I think UGA does something similar with white and black bones.

Use: The Tiger Paw is to be used only to identify programs associated with the Athletic Department. It is not to be used to identify academic programs. The Tiger Paw has to be tilted to one o'clock (turned to the right at a 30-degree angle). The correct Tiger Paw and use are shown.

The Tiger Paw must be reproduced either in white or orange (PMS 165).

Actually

Jan 8, 2008, 7:21 PM

while I don't favor having the two different types of paws (I just think the mishmash of purple and white wouldn't look as good) - having a Tiger Paw sticker given as an award wouldn't be a representation of an academic program - it might be given in response to an academic accomplishment, but it would still be to a player on a program in the athletic department - so I don't think there would be any inconsistency there. Besides, in the technical sense, a TD Pass or a blocked kick or a sack isn't a "program associated with the athletic department" either - NO accomplishment on the field in and of itself constitutes a "program."

I'd rather have players that don't need stickers.***

My toddler gets a sticker when he uses the potty.

Jan 8, 2008, 7:31 PM

How does Curios George stickers sound instead of white or purple tiger paws?

badge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Personally, I am against the small helmet stickers.

Jan 8, 2008, 8:25 PM

Looks a little Pop Warner-ish to me.

The paw on the side of the helmet could use an update to more of a 3-D look though. I am not talking about holograms and high-tech stuff, just something to give it a little definition.
