COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - The Columbia Fire Department is asking for the community's support in honoring one of their own who died Sunday morning.
On Friday, a funeral procession will make its way through Columbia for Firefighter Tyron Weston.
Weston died after getting sick over the Fourth of July weekend.
Governor Nikki Haley has also ordered flags to fly at half-staff Friday in honor of his service.

to be flown at half mast. I am sure the firefighter served his community with pride and the Marines and Sailor that were killed and all the other reasons given lately but our men and women die so that flag can fly high not constantly at half mast.

Not half mast (that's on a boat) on state buildings.
The POTUS can order for federal buildings & there are statutes for certain days after the death of former statesmen - like senators, presidents, Supreme Court Justices, etc.

I can order my flags at half staff anytime time i want for any reason i want. I have three flags - American, South Carolina, and Clemson.

The American flag has been half mast for like a week now
