Craigslist Friday: Old Trucks

Nothing super fancy, but for hauling shiit around, and putting a boat in the water. Maybe cruising timber from time to time and hauling deer to the processor.
sorted $ to $$$
gotta be a scam, right? https://winstonsalem.craigslist.org/cto/d/winston-salem-1984-f150/7446410862.html
not crazy about this one, but it's not bad. Colors make me want to puke https://charlestonwv.craigslist.org/cto/d/eatonton-1982-ford-f100-short-bed-speed/7447171115.html
now this one, I like. interior is a quick and easy fix, I assume. https://boone.craigslist.org/cto/d/north-wilkesboro-1979-chevrolet-chevy/7443125544.html
I've always hated these headlights. Spaced too far apart, like his mama drank too much while she was preggers. Clean though. https://knoxville.craigslist.org/cto/d/sevierville-1989-ford-xlt-lariat-4x4/7442612681.html
New engine, eh? Now THAT's a bed you could put some crap in, for sure. https://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/cto/d/duluth-1984-chevy-10-truck/7446048847.html
More than I'm looking to spend on a garbage hauler, but MF looks clean, don't it? But not too clean. I wouldn't feel too bad about hauling around rocks in it. https://athensga.craigslist.org/cto/d/hull-1969-ford-100-ranger/7445376858.html
Again, more than I'm looking to spend, but this thing may very well outlast me. IDI Diesel. 4x4 You'd buy that one for life, my friend. https://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/cto/d/blairsville-1989-ford-250-4x4/7441995349.html

Sienna which was appropriately named 'Toyota Van'. The engine was between the driver and front passenger seats, which made for comfy winter driving and summer struggles. These also came in 4x4, but the one had was not. Great fun though...I drove it until it was a helpless cripple and sold it to a buddy in Raleigh that rebuilt the engine and used it to move his band around to gigs until he killed it completely dead. It was an excellent tailgate vehicle. Actually made appearances at the first few pre-Jounge Tigernet gatherings.

But I did spend extra for really fresh and exotic ingredients in the best pot of turtle soup I ever made.

Bought new in Sparta, NC and lived in Wilkes County its whole life.
Unless the great Sparta Flood of'81 got it...
From what I can see, it doesn't look too bad. One of the door jambs is visible and the bed looks good. Not sure about these trucks in particular, but I know my grandaddy's old '79 F250 had a ton of bed rust... If the bed looks good, I'd bet the rest of it is in decent shape also.... decent for the year and price, I mean.

Only 27k miles. That's amazing. ">
I had this exact truck as far as color etc etc, but not as mint 12 years ago when I loved at Folly. I just used to go surf the washout and just go handout down there. It was cool. The transmission went out and it had some rust, so I gave it a way in the end. It was fun while it lasted.

says "odometer rolled over" just below the 27K...
The area code on the phone number is right for that part of NC.
Too good to be true, though, Me thinks.

I wonder if they didn't expect vehicles to go over 99,999.

Well for my stated purposes:
Feb 18, 2022, 8:26 AM

hauling dead deer (maybe 160 miles annually) hauling trash (40 miles annually) backing boat in water (could vary, but we're talking about less than 500 miles FOR SURE) cruising timber occasionally (1-2 trips a year of maybe 200miles round trip.
I bet whatever I end up getting won't get any more than 1000 miles per y ear on it. Might as well buy what turns me on and to heck with gas mileage. To put it in perspective, my dad has a truck that he used for identical purposes. A 2001 Dodge 2500 with the super efficient 5.9 Gas engine. It currently has 30K miles on it.
