Concert for George - George Harrison Tribute
Jun 9, 2018, 7:51 PM

Eric Clapton-led concert, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, Ringo, Paul McCartney, son Dhanni, and many many more, an all-star cast of vocalists and musicians with a backup orchestra paying tribute on George Harrison written music. Highly recommended especially Clapton and Billy Preston taking the lead on "My Sweet Lord" and "Isn't it a Pity", and old Ringo - what a charismatic showman. Plus a bonus for those who love Clapton on guitar. Check it out on these clips.

easily the most talented musician on stage that night, and he completely stole the show? Skip to 3:25 in the video for the Purple One's greatness..

If you go by the expression on young Mr. Harrison's face which he loves the most it would no doubt be the one with less total star power but with a genius at the end....Score one for Petty and Prince...

I'm happy to know someone appreciates this as much as me! My favorite is the rendition of My Guitar Gently Weeps. Clapton makes his guitar talk and weep and then Prince completely tares it up! I first saw it on PBS and purchased shortly after.

Hardly. She was no bargain for either. And their friendship was never impeded by that which speaks volumes

So she was so lousy it wasn't worth a fight or she was such a good POA that good friends should share the wealth?

Different times I guess ... Patty Boyd Harrison Clapton must have been some kind of muse ...
Something, Layla, You Look Wonderful Tonight, Promises just a handful of Tunes to or about Patty ...
Am I right Clapton played lead guitar on Harrison's version of "While My Gultar Gently Weeps" on White Album? By that point, all-time super group had really broken up ...

Clapton "overdubbed" the lead guitar on weeps

After The Beatles Rock Band game came out years ago, the isolated tracks were released online, which are awesome.
Not entirely sure about the accuracy of this, but from I remember reading all The Beatles were being being pains in the ##### to each other and George felt all of Paul and John's songs were overshadowing his songs on the album, so he asked Clapton to play guitar on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and that's why the song stands out now.
