Can someone explain IMG Academy?

How do they have so much power to pull kids from around the country? Wouldn't it be prohibitively expensive for many kids? Is it essentially a JV college? And do they win every HS National Championship?

but this says they don't...
FINANCIAL AID No. At this time, IMG Academy does not offer scholarships. We do have a limited amount of financial aid available. Recipients are selected baed on an academic, athletic, character and financial review. The amount of financial aid available to incoming students varies each year. If you're interested in learning more about these opportunities and how to apply, please email us at admissions@img.com, and we'll be happy to offer more information.

So....you either get a scholarship (maybe).....or you get a student loan that you can likely defer until after you complete college? I assume the hope would be that you would get a nice NFL bonus and not worry about 75K?

I remember many tennis pros like Andre Agassi and Anna Kournikova came from there. That was the first I heard about it like in the '80s, way back then.
Now they have expanded to many sports including football, apparently.

so that when those elite players become pro athletes, IMG agents will have a leg up on representing them.
Its no coincidence that the order of development of their sports programs was around those sports where high school graduates could directly go pro. Tennis, Golf, baseball, basketball (around 2000). Football was only a recent addition where IMG didn't have the reach.
