store. We boil them in 2 batches in my turkey fryer. One pot of normal and another pot of spicy/Cajun. Usually get 17-20 quart bags....plenty for the home games and enough for watching others on TV. Just take out of freezer on Fridays.
I use a Coleman burner to warm them up at the game.

nut or two.
I only cook 3 or 4 lbs at a time so it ain't a big operation. Fill stock pot with water, peanuts, vinegar, add salt. As the stuff warms, you need to taste the water to make sure you have the vinegar/salt ratio that you like. When you've got that to a happy place, throw in some Zatarain's Crab Boil (not the liquid stuff, but the spices that come in a mesh bag). You'll wanna take a head of garlic and throw that in, some lemons cut in half (i've used oranges and grapefruits, too).
For heat, some good sources are dried ancho chiles, chipotle peppers, 2 habanero peppers cut in half, fresh serranno chiles cut in half, etc....I will usually combine a few different sources of heat.
After boiling for 3 or 4 hours (I prefer a little crunch still in the nut), remove from heat and let sit for another few hours or overnight if you wish. It is during this time that you remove all the stuff that ain't peanut or water from the pot.
Nuts, hot nuts. You get'em from the peanut man.

water. Freeze the p-nuts in the water to better preserve and warm in the same water. The reason I use the cheapest stuff I can find is that it takes so much to get the flavor into the nuts.

That odd five way intersection....

where 81, 88, 86 and 8 come together has been widened and completely reconfigured to more of a conventional intersection.

Maybe we're thinking of different intersections.

nope... 178 is where the old junk stand is on the corner.

That's AFTER this one. This one is near the "little Jesus church" ... that's why my friends and I used to call it. The tiny little white building that sits on the corner and was a church (is not anymore though)... and then at the actual 4-way stop there is some kind of convenience store and the Hwy Patrol that is going to be directing traffic is usually just sitting in the car for a while.... If you take the exit off I-85 it's between Exit 35 for Hwy 86 and Exit 32 for Pelzer.

now, there is no four way stop there. It's hard to explain without drawing a picture, but 8 coming from Easley turns to the right before the store and T's into 88 at a new light south of where the four way used to be. 86 coming from wren does the same thing on the other side but without a light. At the old intersection of 8 and 88 they moved the little back road across from 88 over so they line up now. they widened both roads and are putting a light there. there will be left and right turning lanes when they finish. shew! i hope that is understandable lol.

I was by there last weekend, they closed that intersection and brought it down to the part that takes you to Pelzer etc. Now a red light there, no crazy 4 way stop.

If you're driving up from Atlanta taking I-985, Hwy 365, Hwy 123.
They are always at a rolling boil.
Good peach turnovers, too.

Those nasty things that they sell in the upstate that are supposedly boiled peanuts are not worth eating. The ones that I see are usually black in color which is a sure sign that they were made with dried peanuts which is a sin in my part of SC. Boiled peanuts should only be made from fresh "green" peanuts and I agree with Rev Dodd...make your own. I cook mine in a large pressure cooker and it only takes 30 minutes.

before you get in to town, there is a small convenience store/gas station on the right (the name escapes me) The vendor who always sets up directly across the street from this store has great boiled peanuts.
