I’ve seen it done that way. Based on what I saw, it appears that 2 gallons of vodka mixed with 6 ounces of V8 are the correct proportions.

Put the V-8 in the fridge.
Drink the bourbon neat or maybe with one cube of ice.
Have a V-8 the next morning.

V8 Ice 1 shot of vodka (I do 2 w/Titos) 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce 1 pinch of salt and ground black pepper 1 splash of hot sauce 1 celery stalk and 2-3 Olives (soup and salad)
For road trips/ tail gating, skip the ice and multiply recipe x20-30 and put a gallon jug - add ice per drink. Adjust salt/pepper/hot sauce to your own taste.

My version is to start with fresh squeeze of lemon juice, add a good splash of Worcestershire sauce, and a hearty dash of tobasco. Then add equal parts of V 8 and Mott’s Clamato juice. The amounts vary on whether you’re making single servings or a batch. Add the appropriate amount of vodka, shake vigorously the add rocks. I usually use low sodium juice and Worcestershire and it still comes out very salty.

Step 1. Take the v8. Open and set to the side. Step 2. Slice lemons and sprinkle with salt. Step 3. Open large bottle of Grey Goose.
Now….Step 4. Pour two large shots of Grey Goose in shot glasses. Step 5. Take one shot glass in each hand. Step 6. Staring with right hand, drink shot followed immediately by left hand. Step 7. Take salted lemon and place in mouth and suck lemon juice. Step 8. Discard used lemon. Step 9. Now take the V8. Pour it down the drain.
Repeat steps 4-8 two additional times.
Make your way to the stadium and cheer on the Tigers.

two cubes of ice in a glass and sip the JD while you put the V8 in the fridge. Make a couple more JD doubles on rocks then drink the V8 right before you pass out.
Makers Mark or some other mid shelf works too.
