ACC Championship Game Tickets

Nov 17, 2011, 1:24 PM

Are these people selling their tickets for $550.00 for a pair of tickets really Tiger Fans?!?!? Why would someone who claims to be a tiger fan do that to another tiger fan that just wants to go to the game and see his team win the ACC Championship. I don't think these people that are charging outrageous prices are real fans.

I had to pay the price for waiting around and being lazy. I paid 140 bucks per ticket. Its supply and demand. 275 dollars per ticket is very reasonable considering those are probably lower deck tickets (probably in the 100s section).

Not outrageous at all for a game of this magnitude.

In many cases it is ticket brokers. They know when tickets are to go on sale to the general public for all of these bowl events. They buy as many tickets as they can at face value and they put those tickets on Stubhub and sell at an escalated cost closer to the game.

The Orange Bowl had a deal this year where if you bought tickets to the 2012 game then you would be eligible to purchase tickets to the National Championship game when the Orange Bowl hosts it (I think 2013). Many ticket brokers buy the tickets this year so they can buy NC tickets next year and resell for 100% markup. It is their business and there is nothing that prevents you or I from doing it either.

I paid $165 face value for my club level tickets. I could see those being sold for $200 - $250. That's not ripping anyone off. Especially since I took a huge chance and bought them in early october.

If Wake Forest had won, we would be selling for less than face value. There was a risk, but I had faith we would win!

Yea, $250 isn't a ripoff, but the cheapest pair of club

Nov 17, 2011, 4:46 PM [ in reply to Re: ACC Championship Game Tickets ]

level sideline seats are $375 a ticket. Average around $450 a ticket.

See below:

Are you really saying they're not ripping people off?

Those are not Tiger fans selling those tix. The bowl gives out tix between the 20's to local business people who commit to buying each year.

Maybe come Clemson Fans should Boycott

Nov 17, 2011, 4:50 PM

Maybe all Clemson Fans should boycott paying over $25.00 over asking price of the the tickets. There are some fans that don't have more money than God and are not or cannot go in debt to go see a Clemson football game. Sad when the real fans are the ones that can't afford to go see them play. College football has gotten way out of hand.

"Sad when the real fans are the ones that can't afford to go see them play"

I beg to differ there are a lot of Clemson (REAL) fans that will be going to the game in Charlotte. I figure out at way to go everytime my Tigers play...Instead of an anniversary gift we are using the money we would have bought something for a gift and are using the money to go to Charlotte. Instead of buying gifts for Christmas for each other, my husband and I will be going to Miami. We have used birthdays, anniversaries, and Christmas money to spend to go where the Tigers are. Best memories in the world...and that outfit I might have gotten or that piece of jewelry....nah no memory .... priorities !!!

I sure didn't hear any whining when tickets were 4/$100

Nov 17, 2011, 5:22 PM

We bought a 4 pack of tickets for $100 bucks after the VT game. Definitely worth the gamble.
