Spencer Kieboom lost a tooth and gained a treasured and unique memory in Philadelphia on Tuesday.
The Washington Nationals catcher stepped into the batter's box for his second at-bat and smashed the first pitch opposite-field and over the wall. The blast was Kieboom's first Major League home run. In his home-run trot, Kieboom pointed to a spot where a tooth missing and that led to some video review over the internet. Some seeing a tooth flying out. So Spencer Kieboom lost his tooth to a baguette this morning. It was a veneer. He’s getting it fixed on the next off-day. But that thing he spat.. just spit. Kieboom: "It's the Caps, man. Those boys play with no teeth. I can play with no teeth." Kieboom was called up for the second time in his pro career this season and has appeared in 43 games now. He was drafted in the fifth round of the 2012 MLB Draft.
