4-star 2017 point guard Lavar Batts from Concord, North Carolina (JM Robinson HS) is down to Clemson and VCU on Friday according to multiple reports. He will take official visits to both schools before making his decision. This would be an enormous get for Brownell and company, and the talented prospect will more than likely make his decision in the next few weeks.
Batts has offers from App State, Butler, Charlotte, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Loyola(MD), Nebraska, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and VCU. He is a consensus 4-star prospect by all the recruiting services, the top overall player in North Carolina for the 2017 cycle, and was named to USA Today's All-North Carolina 2nd team last season. He averaged 20.7 points per season to lead his high school to a 3A championship and broke the school's career scoring record of 1,304 points. 2017 PG Lavar Batts has cut his list to VCU and Clemson, per his father. Will make decision after official visits. Top-100 player.
