PAW Drill highlights early Monday practice in front of STRIVR cameras |
CLEMSON – Monday’s morning practice featured a Daniel scrum, rugby-style kicks and plenty of info to pass along.
The Clemson football team practiced early this morning, the sixth practice overall and the second in full pads, the first of two practices on Monday. The first period started with a scaled-up version of the PAW drill, with three offensive players blocking for a running back and going against three defensive players. It started with Daniel High School products Shaq Lawson A few minutes later it was freshman left tackle Mitch Hyatt Freshman defensive tackle Christian Wilkins Senior linebacker B.J. Goodson I would give the edge to the defense during the drill. C.J. Fuller *Linebacker Ben Boulware *A strange-looking camera has been seen at practice this week, and it turns out to be a virtual reality tool used to help the players. The camera can be set up by the quarterback and captures what happens in every direction. The system is called STRIVR, an immersive training tool. I was told that quarterback Deshaun Watson *The first team offensive line hasn’t changed since last week, with Mitch Hyatt at left tackle, Eric Mac Lain Second team offensive line, left to right: Taylor Hearn Third team offensive line, left to right: Noah Green *Freshman safety Tanner Muse *Two Carolina Panthers scouts were in attendance and they spent a good portion of the early practice talking to Woody McCorvey. *Marcus Edmond *We saw more kicking Monday morning: It looks like walk-on Greg HuegelShaq Lawson
