Biggest takeaway from series win over Louisville

I tell you Louisville is going to be one of the best lineups top to bottom Clemson faces all year including postseason

They’re pitching is what costs them. The walls and free bases allowed.

Clemson is good enough to accomplish anything this year, including a national championship

But my biggest takeaway is that once we get past Nathan Devorski, we are screwed

I don’t trust Ethan Darden, LeGuernic, or Hudson Lee out of the bullpen in any game that is coming down to the wire like that.

The good thing is our bullpen overall has been one of the best in the country, if not the best.

And it looks like we’re finding a good weekend setup for starting pitching

So if the bags get really really hot, we won’t need to worry about what I just said so much

I don’t disagree, but I feel like that’s true for every college team. We have about six or so good to great arms out of the bullpen, which is more than almost every single program has in a year

Newsflash pitching didn't lose that game....leaving a butt load of runners in scoring position did. I don't know what our hitting approach was today, but it wasn't good. Happy we won the series against a good team, but we can't afford to strand runners if we are going to make some hay in the post season. I love this team and we have a great record and we haven't even come close to playing our best baseball yet.

I don't think our pitching is Natty level

It’s about Bakich’s decision making.

About who exactly he cedars to start and strategize.

By this point in the season, you definitely have a general idea of what each pitcher will give you when they pitch

We have multiple pitchers that are very very good, but they’ve been in the wrong roles.

There’s no point in mentioning Knaak, he’s the top pitcher

Titsworth is Omaha material. I can see it

I think BJ Bailey works the best for Sunday, and have no idea why he didn’t actually start against Louisville today. Fitzgerald allowed only one, but that puzzled me.

And is exactly what I’m talking about.

Bakich had made questionable decisions on starters, and also other things like time allowed in the game for pitchers who are starting to give up hits.

He’s been a lot quicker with pulling pitchers recently.

It’s natty level because I believe we’ll eventually find the full 3-man weekend rotation.

There are certainly, 100%, surely 3 pitchers in this staff that can be consistent in Omaha starting.

We know we have one with Knaak

I really am confident that Titsworth will just get better and better

And just a third solid pitcher to give you a quality start. Probably Bailey like I said.

You’ve just got to avoid having to use Darden, Leguernic, or Hudson Lee in pressure packed situations
