Report: Deshaun Watson working out for Browns on Thursday |
Former Clemson standout quarterback Deshaun Watson is working out for the Cleveland Browns on Thursday according to multiple reports including the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Watson will have a private workout with the team today while former North Carolina signal-caller Mitch Trubisky will follow him with a workout on Friday. After Friday, the Browns will have had one-on-one workouts with the top four quarterback prospects [Watson, Trubisky, Kizer, Mahomes] in the upcoming NFL draft. The Browns are eying taking a quarterback with their No. 12 selection as they will more than likely select defensive end Myles Garrett with the first overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft. Swinney warned during the Senior Bowl that NFL teams should not pass on Deshaun Watson. "I'm just telling you if they pass on Deshaun Watson, they're passing on Michael Jordan,'' Swinney said. "I'm just telling you. I don't know what the heck I'm talking about. I'm just an old funky college coach. (But) Deshaun Watson is the best -- by a long shot.'' In 2016, Watson completed 388 passes out of 579 attempts for 4593 yards and 41 passing touchdowns with 17 interceptions (and his degree) for an adjusted QBR of 84.9.
