Former Clemson QB arrested |
The 2017 NFL Draft's 'Mr. Irrelevant' was arrested last night.
Denver Broncos backup quarterback Chad Kelly was arrested on Tuesday morning at 1:17 a.m. on a charge of first-degree criminal trespassing in Englewood, Colorado. The 24-year old was taken to Arapahoe County Jail and according to the release, the investigation is ongoing. While officers were responding, they received information that the male was now inside the residence. The male was chased out of the resident by an occupant, and officers began to search the area. A short time later, a male matching the description provided by the homeowner, was located inside a black sport utility vehicle, in the area of the Gothic Theatre. Statement from the Broncos following the arrest of Chad Kelly: “We are disappointed that Chad Kelly was arrested early this morning. Our organization has been in contact with Chad, and we are in the process of gathering more information.” Kelly aka 'Swag' played for Clemson in 2013 and was 10-for-17 for 58 yards, but was dismissed following 2014 spring practice. He wound up at Ole Miss, and put up big numbers for the Rebels in 2016, completing 298-458 for 4,042 yards, with 31 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. #Broncos backup QB Chad Kelly was charged with first-degree criminal trespassing, the PIO of the Englewood, CO PD tells me. This happened at 1:17 am this morning. Not good.
