Wild finish at Richmond

After taking the last 2 weekends off due to the Olympics, NASCAR returned tonight at Richmond. It was relatively uneventful with the only cautions being the stage breaks, but with 7 to go, the yellow came out and the race went to overtime. On the final lap coming off of turns 3/4, Austin Dillon dumped Logano and then dumped Hamlin to win it. Joey was absolutely pi*sed in his interview. Denny was too, but not as bad Joey. Next week should be interesting.

If you can win the race like that what’s the use of all the previous laps? I understand that an engine or tire issue can cause wrecks and change the outcome but that’s different than just taking people out. Then again, they All do it when there’s a chance to win.

He drives Earnhardt’s #3 … wasn’t he “The Intimidator” because he did this routinely?

For you youngsters on here, I can see better racing on I-95 than on a NASCAR (they should change the name) Track. Nothing stock about the cars, just riding around in a circle mostly, if you bump someone you get fined or suspended or both, mostly just a joke. Just like INDY Cars, with the exception of sheet metal. I would prefer to talk about our 4th team right tackle.

Nothing has been stock for the last 30 years at least. But even if they were, the b*tch and moaners would still b*tch and moan. Feel free to create a thread about the 4th string RT.

Dillon should be DQ'd for the finish but he won't be.

He brazenly wrecked Logano and Hamlin in the final turn of the race. That is not how you are supposed to win. They will make sure that he does not get a championship this year.

Larson says hello after Hamlin has knocked him out from behind multiple times. Lagano has his share of bumping and spinning drivers at the end of races over the years. Ask Harvick and Byron to name a couple. What goes around ...

yep. Lagano is such a whiny baby. Does the same stuff, but can't happen to him? LOL.

It was a bonehead move by Austin, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t crack a slight grin seeing it happen to Joey and Denny.

And seeing that it was the #3 car made me grin a little more. I gotta believe Dale was probably looking down on that one grinning too.

Agree, they both do it but I can’t recall either taking out two drivers to win. I wouldn’t doubt they have, just don’t recall it. Dillon will get his for sure. He did what he had to. They’ll do what they have to to make sure he doesn’t win a race at some point. Hopefully it was worth it for him…
