If Christians are not under the law anymore?
Seems legalistic to me.

Because the founder wanted to give his employees a day of rest and let them be able to attend Church. Nothing to do with legalism.

Again, you don't understand how forums work.
That would be like saying, any republican posting in the politics forum is unsure of their belief and is looking for validation.
Or, hear me out, it's fun to argue with people who don't agree with you. Religion isn't special in that regard.

The “you don’t understand how twitter/reddit/forums work” is soooo 10 years ago.
Arguing is lowbrow, debate is intellectual. Cheesy passive aggressive questions are arguing.

I think it’s a legitimate question and observation that a place of business would choose to give up so much revenue in the name of a religion that doesn’t even call them to do so.

Well he’s not only taking money out of his pocket, but also his investors and employees. I imagine a lot of fast wood workers could use more hours. If this was your typical 9-5 Monday- Friday business I could understand, but a restaurant?
Besides how crazy this is from a business standpoint, ironically it kind of goes against Jesus’ message.

You literally were just coming from a primary angle of cost-benefit analysis with religion being your “besides”. I responded accordingly and you want to pretend religion was the crux of that argument now.

It's a private business, so he doesn't have to worry about shareholders. The business is pretty much an extension of himself. With the lines I see at lunch, I don't think the bankers are worried about getting paid back.
If you need to work on a particular day, then you should get a job with a company that is open on that day.
'it kind of goes against Jesus' message ' - you write a lot of silly stuff, but that is up there.

Somehow that got turned into it being a sin to work on Sunday.

That's a bit of a leap, from not being open on Sunday to the CEO thinks it's a sin. Maybe he does. I don't know, but that's a leap.

He seems to think people should attend church on Sunday, which would seem to suggest he thinks those that do not are morally in the wrong.

I’m just going by his actions.
He is closed on Sunday so his employees can go to church.
Therefore he believes people should go to church.
Therefore he believes that those who don’t are morally wrong.
That’s not a giant leap IMO.

It’s hilarious (and very telling) how you will pretend you don’t believe the things you claim to believe.
Like when you claim you are not judging people right before saying they are wrong for who they choose to marry or what they choose to drink.

I don't know the man, but I'm guessing he wants to make his employees comfortable by not having to ask off to attend church, if they desire to go. Cuz, you know, that's when the vast majority of people attend church. And, he's been so successful that he doesn't have to worry about a revenue stream for one day.
But, ets prolly cuz hays laygulestik

Chick-fil-A is closed on Sunday and owned by Christians.
Jesus performed miracles on the Sabbath.
Ergo Christianity is proven false.
I was trying to avoid admitting it, but darn it, he trapped us.

I've been posting a completely unhealthy (and frankly ridiculous, if I'm being honest) volume of posts on here for a quarter century not because I enjoy it, but really in an effort to figure out how it all works.
I lashed out when he asked me that because I felt exposed and the embarrassment was raw.

Inconsistencies are to be expected when you are not claiming to have perfect, eternal knowledge behind your beliefs. That’s what you are claiming.
Anyway, it just shows how the goalposts have moved since the first century.
If chick filas owner had his employees serving at the local homeless shelter or children’s hospital I could understand, but closing shop just so they can attend a religious service?
I don’t think that’s what Jesus had in mind….

and go to church.
I personally hope they continue the practice. It's nice to occasionally see a business decide to do this.
I also like their sandwiches.
If they changed the practice, I wouldn't necessarily be bothered by it. CFA is their own company and can decide what days to be open.
The main thing I like about CFA is you get good service in addition to the good fast food.

an opportunity to attend church. 'The apostles met and broke bread on the first day of the week,' that's paraphrased. If you consider having dinner or supper with someone as a type of fellowship then you can see the value of church in Romans 10:
"23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."
Maybe you can't see it but consider these: Companies have luncheons for employees, some churches meet regularly for 'Sunday dinner,' after morning services on Sunday, Dabo has a dinning hall for his players, salesmen often take customers to lunch on the company ticket to build relationships with them and couples have dinner when they first meet to get to know one another.
Church is about spiritual feeding for God's Word is spiritual fruit. Jesus said, 'man does not live by bread alone but by every word which proceeds from the mouth of God. Church is vital for fellowship with God for many Christians so I commend C-F-L for their policy.
I appreciate your sacrifice of abstaining from C-F-L chick samiches on Sunday but if it becomes overwhelming then drop by your local C-F-A and pick up one on Saturday, put it in the fridge and warm it up Sunday in the microwave.
