I don't usually do this (ask strangers for prayer) but if it is not too much trouble, could you guys say a little prayer for my family, me and my dog sometime today?
Our dog has been a friend, companion and family member for 12 years now and it is going to hurt like a mug, but he needs to go out on top and not suffer anymore. He was diagnosed with an aggressive, rare form of cancer that has spread to his Lymphatic system. The prognosis is terminal, and it is time to say goodbye before he suffers anymore.
He has been my football buddy and loving presence in our families lives ever since he has been with us. During Clemson games, he would lay beside me on the couch and listen to me scream at the television and nuzzle me to scratch his head when he thought I needed to calm down. He has been loyal and loving all the way up to the end and my family and I will miss that big old fat "puddin" of a bulldog terribly.

Man, that sucks. You're right, a dog is a member of the family. They are all loyal.
Ours just turned 10 and showing signs of slowing down too. It's tough to watch, but just remember all the great times. Prayers sent.

A few years ago, we had to put down a 14 year old lab. Still hurts to think of him. Wonderful friend.

I know your hurt,I've had to put down three dogs over the last
forty years and cried like a baby each time,They all lived to be
13 yrs old.My advice is,wait about two months and then go and get
you a dog with the same breed. I bought what will be my last dog,
a cocker spaniel at 73 yrs old and she has grown into a joy at
6 yrs.old.Heads up Tiger,your grief will pass but your memories wont.

Unlike nearly everything else that you own in life, a good dog is not paid for when you get him, but when you lose him. At that point you finally find the true cost of all those years as the bill comes due in full.
May the pain of his passing bring some small measure of comfort as you realize it’s a reflection of the true value of him in your life.

Been there multiple times. Most recently five years ago when I laid across the table on top of Mr. Boot. There is no replacing, It took me four years to accept a gift my wife wanted to give me immediately. NVDO is now fourteen months. He is a total joy, but he is not a replacement. Plenty space in the heart for each. I am clear that a dog is not a human but love is love and it is so painful to lose one you love. I am with you in spirit and prayer has been given.

I went with my mom when she had to put her beloved pug down. She was crying for Faye. I was crying for her. Very tough thing to do.

Praying for you. I had to do the same for my little 15 year old mutt a couple of weeks ago. It hurts like #### but know you’re doing the best for them. They hold a special place in our hearts and families.

I just said a prayer for your and your family. While it will be hard it sounds like it is the thing to do. I've in your shoes before and it was difficult. I still say hello to them when I see their pics in the house. Peace Brother!

Know exactly how you feel. It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do, but it was the right thing. That was 2018, and not a day goes by that I don't fondly recall our furry family member. You'll get through it and, in time, you'll recall all the great memories and enjoy going through your old pictures.

I’ve had to make this decision a few times in my life. It’s a horrible day no doubt. I think it’s important to realize that their lives have always been in our hands and they trust us completely to do the right thing for them. Even when it’s time to end their suffering.
For believers, it’s similar to our relationship with God. We should trust Him to always do what’s best for us.
