I think fans would rejoice. The talking heads would have less to blather about. I'm seeing UCLA is now losing Aguilar to Tennessee. What a joke.

NIL isn't the problem. Transfer portal is the issue.

Portal is an issue too. Coupled with NIL with no structure is insanity. Mercenarianism at its finest.

Unregulated NIL is most DEFINITELY a BIG problem

It's utter madness for HS players who have never played a down to be offered $MILLIONS to play for a college team. They have to regulate it and place reasonable limits on NIL offerings to bring back some semblance of fairness to what has become an insane asylum.

Do that and adjust the transfer rules to where ever player isn't a virtual free agent every FFFeFFFing season, and you'd be back to what college football ought to be.

It's absolutely both!***

If they brought back the rule to sit out a year, they would need to add "without pay" to truly be effective.

Why don't you want the players to get paid like everyone else, and they are the you pay to watch play ,the system needs to be adjusted some but it is a good thing for the players

This isn't NIL, its pay for play which I believe to be wrong. A perfect example of good intentions ruining a wonderful thing.

I don’t think NIL should end, but the current system is horrible. If a player wants to be paid for jersey sales, or being in a commercial or video game, that’s fine with me. It’s the blatant tampering and dropping bags for recruits that I have issues with

NIL just needs to be used as it was intended, income from, well, NIL. Not $X to come to team. That leads to my biggest issue, unrestricted transfers.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don't have any issue with them getting their market value.....

but I would like to see more of an NFL type of model with salary caps so teams do not get priced out of the market. I think Clemson can hang with the large programs overall but there will be cases where we will get outbid on some players. It would be nice to regulate the transfer portal to be more like a free agent model. Have the incoming freshman stay with the recruiting team through their sophomore year, they can transfer as a junior but maybe sit out the first four games, become a free agent their senior year and can transfer when needed and play right away. This would at least put some guardrails on transfers so teams can plan their roster better. Either way, the player still gets their fair market value NIL deal.

Just my $0.02

1. I would like for there to be strict regulations put in place to where players can actually earn money the way NIL is intended.

2. I would like for contracts to be in place like the NFL. Players in the NFL can’t just go play for another team until contract is up. College should be the same. This Wild Wild West of the transfer portal is out of control.

Have no problem with any of it. At the beginning of the season i just cheer for whoever clemson has on the field. I dont worry about how much anyone makes or who transfers to where.
