Sadly they’d have to make some sort of deal with the SoCon to move it to Greenville. That’s where the SoCon Tournament is held, and I suspect they wouldn’t leave because the ACC asked them to

Fluor Field in Greenville would sell out most games.

No one is going to a Tuesday game between ND and BC irrespective of where it’s played. All of our games would be sold out; the rest of em would be just as sparse as they are in Durham.

It would interesting to compare total attendance of the years in Greenville with the total attendance at f the recent tournaments. I would guess Greenville would have been significantly higher, even though there may have been fewer games back then.

wolfies will likely have more fans in attendance than Fluor field even holds(6700). Then you add the tar and semi holes to the mix Friday and they’ll be pretty well attended. I’ve been to a few weekday matinee triple A games and it’s always a ghost town, I don’t see why Tuesday and Wednesday at the ACC tournament would be any different. I mean would you have taken yesterday off from work to see Pitt vs Louisville if the game had been in your town?

I think Greenville would hold it's own. Idk if they'd draw more fans than Durham because the Durham complex holds several thousand more people. But the Drive are one of the highest drawing teams in A or high-A ball. Their average attendance is like 4500 or something, so there would be some interest for sure.

The stadium in Durham has a capacity of 10,000 so there are gonna be a lot of empty seats.

Yep, when the fan calmly walk down about 10 rows to get Listi's HR ball, I knew it was dismal.

Were part of the selection process. In the early 2010s they couldn't hold any tournaments in SC because of the confederate flag. Once that impediment was removed RFPs were sent out to several cities and CLT's and Durham's proposals FAR exceeded that of Greenville. Then a couple years ago they moved the ACC office to CLT and as part of that process the conference was given huge state tax breaks. One of the conditions of the deal is that a vast majority of the conference championships must be held in the state of NC. So, don't hold your breath we aren't gonna see a baseball tournament in SC any time soon.

the equation. The game day experience is a secondary factor.Just like at Clemson home games. The constaNt recognitions on the field and the BLASTING advertisments during EVERY break in the action, have made the in-stadium experience worse than watching at home. JMHO....

I've thought for years that Myrtle Beach would be a perfect place to have the ACC baseball tournament. You could arrange to get Pelican Park. There's so many things for people to do when their team isn't playing.
I am NOT a beach person, would rather be hiking in mountains (ok, in the foothills) but think MB is a missed opportunity.
The one downside is the conflict with Memorial Day weekend (does this happen every year?), but by Friday night, all but two teams are done.

Wish it would just stay in Charlotte. I could make a lot of the games there. Beautiful ball park as well. Not taking anything away from Durham just have never been there to make any type of comparison.

It Just Doesn't Mean More. Looks like an ACC football or basketball game attendance.
