What do u guys expect from Louisville

Their first go around this year ? They seem to have a pretty brutal schedule. I think it may get ugly for them unless they r really good.

they return a lot of people on both sides of the ball. losing bridgewater is their biggest obstacle to overcome. if petrino gets gardner going at qb they could be very good.

He's going to need 1-2 years to get the personnel he needs, so this year might be tough on UL.
If we played at UL this year and CLEMSON next year, I think we would go 2-0, but we might lose next year at their house. Petrino will have his team playing more like he wants them to by the next time we meet them.

I think they will be a really tough out, and i would disagree about him needing a couple of years that get personnel. That team probably has more talent on it than it did at any point when he was there the first time around building that program from scratch.

In the Valley , with our offense against their "defense" ? 42-17 Tigers and they probably lose 4-5 this year with their tough schedule.

I doubt it. Who is their defensive coordinator ? They recruit about on par with UNCheat and/or Texas Tech ...and the fact that Petrino is their coach in his first year back from scandalization ? Ain't skeered.

Even with a new QB replacing Bridgewater....

they wil lbe pretty solid offensively. The new QB will have a host of experienced talent around him, espeically at RB and WR.
Defensively will likely be another matter. In addition to some key personnel losses on that side of the ball, the new coaching staff is also changing defensive schemes.

Some of you guys in this thread need to read up on Petrino and his success. He has immediate success with his offense. He has won everywhere he's been and even when he was just an OC he was successful. Just a few blurbs:
Petrino returned to his alma mater in 1985 as offensive coordinator. In each of his two seasons in that position, Carroll had the top-rated offense in NAIA football.
During his two seasons at ASU under head coach Bruce Snyder, he oversaw the development of future All-American QB Jake Plummer, who went on to play ten seasons in the NFL.
In 1995 he moved to the University of Nevada, serving as both offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach under Chris Ault. During his one season there, the Wolf Pack were second in the nation in both passing offense and total offense, and third in scoring offense.
When Smith moved to Louisville in 1998, Petrino followed him there as offensive coordinator. In his one season there, the Cardinals were top-ranked in Division I-A in scoring and total offense and posted the biggest positive turnaround among I-A football teams, winning six more games than in the 1997 season.
In four years as head coach at Louisville, Petrino built the Cardinals into a national power. He led them to 11 wins in 2004 and 12 wins in 2006—only the second and third times that the Cardinals won as many as 11 games in a season.
Arkansas (34-17) - In his final year at Arkansas, the 2011 Razorbacks finished with an 11-2 record and a #5 final ranking in the AP poll, the school's highest ranking since 1977. The eleven wins also tied a school record. The only two teams to beat the Hogs that year were Bama and LSU, both of whom played each other for the national championship.

Guy has no soul and no class. With that said, Louisville knew EXACTLY what they were getting themselves into, so I won't feel even slightly bad for them.

A soul and class are both secondary if a coach can get you 10+ wins a year.

Petrino is one of the best offensive coaches out there

BUT, he doesn't have his hand picked QB yet. Charlie Strong has brought in a good bit of talent there but Bridgewater was there entire offense. I would think that Clemson at home shouldn't have any trouble this year but give Petrino a couple of years to get his kind of players in and they will be one of the top teams in the ACC.

to fully comply with the leagues academic admission requirements. Up until now Louisville has a history of admitting an unlimited number of partial qualifiers which has really benefitted them from a recruiting standpoint.

What in the world are you talking about? The ACC admits the same players as everyone else.....each school may have its own standards but what is this conference standard you are referring to?

The ACC absolutely has its own eligibility rules
Jul 11, 2014, 11:47 AM

|
Article VI. Rules of Eligibility Applicable to all Sports Section VI-1. Conference Initial-Eligibility Rule
A conference member may permit a maximum of four nonqualifiers (two in men’s sports and two in women’s sports with no more than one in any single sport) who have been granted a partial waiver by the NCAA Initial Eligibility Waiver Committee permitting them to receive athletic aid and/or practice per NCAA rules and whose first full-time collegiate enrollment occurs at an ACC institution.

Those suddend stops that occur when said volleyball player's boyfriend finds out are brutal!
