Swinney revealed that running back Phil Mafah has been battling “a little injury,” which has played a role in his production the last four games.
but with dabo saying that..it leads to ask why has he been playing? why put the team in jepordy of losing (which we did lose last saturday) by playing a guy clearly injured and has been hurting his production due to it? more dumb founding personnel moves on dabos part. see also brown sitting the 4th quarter

not that little if he refuses to run hard and keeps trotting out of bounds.

and having a coach basically say they rather use an injured rb than give you snaps. talk about sending a message of you dont trust them and dont think they can do the job.

yeppers, I have. If Mafah is the best we got based on his effort the last 4-5 games.... we whiffed on RBs or coaching RBs.

Coaching is the problem. Haynes should be seeing more snaps.

Great former players don’t necessarily equal great coaches. Just saying.

Only the coaches really know if he’s our best chance to win.

I disagree. You can’t play an injured player at this level, in this game, especially when you have capable back ups. And we have seen the back up, and he is more than capable.

Dabo has “his guys”. We know this and have seen this movie multiple times over the years. He sticks with certain players no matter what (Hello DJU). Don’t know if it’s because of NIL agreements, his loyalty, or maybe both.
The fact that he’s been allowing Mafah to play like he has, with an injury that’s clearly an issue, is just irresponsible.

In this case, it's blind loyalty no matter what another injury might do to Phil.
Now Dabo makes it public right before the ACCCG??? That's epically stupid. Tell the opposition your #1 guy is hitting so they hit him harder? High school coaches know better.

An injury is different. You can bench an injured player without being disloyal.
This isn’t Stout vs. Watson, Bryant vs. Lawrence or DJU vs. Klubnik.

I agree with what you’re saying. But what the heck is the rationale behind Mafah being played with obvious injuries that are a detriment to him and the team?

Haynes was running well and I thought he was going to finish the game to rest Phil. They pulled him immediately following the false start penalty and I don’t think he played on offense after that. None of us know how these kids practice but they must really mess up because their leash is incredibly short.

Agree….coaches need to trust the players. If the other RBs give them reasons to doubt that trust Sunday through Friday, they don’t play as much on Saturday.

There are several reasons for Phil playing and I'm going to start with the first and most humbling.
1. You don't see these guys at practice so your ignorance of how they practice prohibits any respect for your emotional driven opinion.
