LOL....Elliott runs a high school offense it's really that simple. WR's can't get open. Can't catch.
If you think Elliott is good, you're an idiot.

Jeff Scott had more to do with that than you think.

Jeff Scott was not the play-caller at Clemson, but I know why you want to give him credit. I saw that agenda for what it was from the beginning.

Elliott has been in the booth since 2015. Scott has

been in the sideline, coaching WRs and occasionally giving sine ideas. He was never the playcaller nor did he "have more to do with the offense than you think" You made that up.

You're dead on, Peppa. Scott's contrubution was relaying the plays to the players from the sideline and then hugging the players who made the plays. We had good players then, working in unison and his job was easier.
If anyone has followed Scott's play calling to the Bulls, you see gome pretty generic plays, nothing all over the field. Maybe he doesn't have the players, but when you don't, you have to step out of the box and try something.
I'm not a $2M OC, don't want to be, But 4th and 1 and you go for it, and you put in a true freshman who has NOT been in a single play and hand off to him. DJU should have been able to take it from under center and fall forward. C'Mon.

Looked to me more that DJ is struggling with a more complicated offense and TE was using more and more vanilla to just get him some rhythm and confidence. You can't just go call a game that your qb is struggling with. TE is just fine and a good coach. Oh, BTW when DJ did finally make some good throws the wr's didn't catch them.

I agree Elliott was fine tonight.

He had the short yardage calls I bet he wishes he could have back but I would have never seen those plays coming so at least they were not predictable but other than that I liked the calls tonight for the most part. But you have bad routes, tons of drops, and a QB that can’t make decisions and has no consistent accuracy at all and cannot even get the ball close on anything over 20 yards. Our two beat WRs had big plays literally go through their hands on two passes he actually threw accurately so no tonight was not on Elliott’s play calls and it was not on the Oline. Tonight was again bad QB play and WRs that I think frankly have given up on said QB. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear Ross hang it up and wait for the draft at some point during the year.

That "high school offense" has been one of the most consistent and explosive in the country since 2015. Same playcaller all 6 seasons.
The HS offense led us to #2, #1, #4, #1, #2, and #4 finishes in the last 6 seasons. We played in 6 of 6 playoffs during the run, we've made 4 of 6 national championship games during the run, and we won 2 national championships. We won more games than everyone in the country except Alabama, we won more playoff games than anyone except Alabama, and we had the 2nd best average finish during the 6 seasons as well.
You don't do that with a HS offense. And save me the, "but we had good players" nonsense. Good players don't make a bad, "high school" offense accomplish all that we have.
Elliott has been one the most consistent and explosive playcallers in since 2015.

Agreed concerning TE play calling. I do think he should drag a tight end over the middle on occasion.

Sorry to keep repeating myself BUT we have pitiful offense AND the offense starts with Elliot. The only thing so far has been excuse after excuse about what’s wrong . The kicker was the only offense worth talking about last night and that had nothing to do with Elliot. I understand your loyalty but don’t be blind.

I'm as critical of Elliot as anyone but what else choice did he have except run it? DJ wasn't hitting guys wide open. I got a feeling though they'll be getting Taisun ready this week. Some of the passes DJ missed were literal layups. Half of the forum could probably make the throw. We need a QB that can make the easy ones at the very least.

We could lose the next two games and still be as anemic on offense as we have seen so far, only score 14 points and you won’t see dj get benched sadly …

We had 440 yards. OL was better, Pace had s nice game, and wexfoubd a good one in Marah. DJ played better too.
We had at least 4 dropped passes, 3 for good gains. We had some QB functional/executional plays as well.
Its bizarre how we had 6 great seasons with perhaps the most consistent and explosive offensive coordinator since 2015, and we have 4 games where our struggles are in execution, and we have fans who want to fire the OC after every game.
Tonight we had some drops, and less execution issues, but there was again nothing wrong with the playcalling.

I wouldn’t want to question your superior observation skills, but you are the person who posted that Clemson was “lucky” to win and was essentially gifted the game by Boston College. So, which is it? Did Venables win the game all by himself, or did he merely inherit the benevolence of Boston College’s gift like the rest of the team?

Five years from now all you Elliott panty sniffers will be saying the same thing and we will have been swallowed by mediocrity and possibly not beating USC. What's sad is all of you are okay with that. I'm not. TE was not the reason we won natties, the palyers we had were. They are gone and he has no idea what to do other than call the same old stupid plays that he got beat down by LSU, Bama and OSU with. Only now he doesn't have that stable of players to pull his butt out with. Granted he can't go down and run the plays but that's on him too. He picked what he has. DJ looks like he is throwing cement blocks around, running backs are slow, line can't block and receivers can't catch. Other than that we are all good.

What the offense showed tonight is that we have a promising RB in Mafah, Ngata is a tough runner when he catches the ball (missed 2 good throws) and K Pace can take an ridiculous verbal attack from Swinney and then still has a great attitude to give on every play. I still can't grasp any sense of why TP is not given a series or two. There is someting there that keeps DB and TE from calling his number and let DJU go groom his beard some.
When is the 'we're going to burst out' per DJU. I have to correct him, yes "Rome Was Not Built In A Day", but some parts of it were.
Throwing soft passes to a trainer after the game with a camera on him, doesn't impress me.
