this is the guy we wanted clearly. Never even showed we had a tight in till we offered him. Then suddenly we throw to the te every play. Our can had 18 catches against Cuse or something.

I hope it makes you feel important going after an 18 or 19-year old kid who just realized his dream. Petty

Happy to have the kid and don't agree with bashing him just because we missed out on a couple bluechips. But this is a pathetic post. Tigernet is a toxic community that thumbs down anything that isn't sunshine pumping. If you put any value of self-worth in what your "pulse" is, you're a very sad person.

Nolan Turner, Bayliner Specter, James Skalski, Hunter Renfrow.
The best receiving TE we've had in a while was Jordan Leggett, he was a 3 star guy.
Why do some continually question the ability of Dabo and his staff to find diamonds in the rough? If a guy is offered and given a scholarship to play football at Clemson University, you can bet your behind, the guy can play football!

Just went and checked... Offers for Nolan Turner, Clemson and UAB Offers for Baylon Spector, Clemson, Duke, Mercer, Wake Forest, Georgia Southern Offers for Hunter Renfrow, App St., Wofford, Furman, Gardner-Webb, Presbyterian
How many times in the last 5 years or so have we seen our staff offer a kid in camp, that is on noone's radar. Then everyone else takes notice and the offers flood in. How many coaches around the country would loved to have had Renfrow, Turner, Spector, Skalski, and others that were nobodies, in their roster. I know about 125 that kicked themselves over Renfrow.

Patrick was a stud physically, but not on the field.n He had tons of potential though. He should have always just played defense imo. Anyway, I feel good about his kid.

The throws to the TE during Syracuse game reflected the following:
(1) Growth of DJ as a QB; he wasn't staring down Davis Allen but threw him the ball when he was open.
(2) A Clemson TE actually catching the doggone football for once this year. Positive feedback loop; gives the QB confidence that throwing to the TE actually moves the offense downfield.
As far as Josh Sapp, I'm optimistic. If he's tough like his daddy, then he'll be a good blocker. If he's athletic like his daddy, then maybe he'll catch the ball. He may not be super-fast (as the super-fast TE prospects get lots of offers from the big schools). But we've had surprising success with low rated TE's in the past (Michael Palmer comes to mind).
Welcome aboard, Josh Sapp!

What I have seen all season is DJ staring down his targets and Friday was no exception. I hope he gets that out of his system soon.

Biggest myth in football is QBs staring down targets and looking off targets. Every QB just goes through his progressions whether it's Trevor Lawrence or D. Watson or Tom Brady. Those terms were made up for TV audiences. But, go ahead and down vote me for saying the truth. This site has become nothing but a huge whine fest lately anyway. It's just almost amusing how spoiled Clemson fans have become and now everyone is yelling about the guys that made us spoiled.

If he has half of his father’s grit, Dabo just got a steal. I also don’t feel he will take his marbles and go play elsewhere. Welcome to Clemson and Go Tigers!

Thanks Josh. We need you... The kids got game and knows Clemson. He'll fit in nicely. Like a lot of oline recruiting, tight ends are not always indicative of their rank.
Travis Kelce says hello. Recruited by Akron and Idaho st and a 2*. Last I heard, he was doing pretty good for himself.

Getting our a55 kicked with five stars all over the field might as well get a three star with potential to be a five star. Congratulations young man!

I’m happy for the young man but this is going to be more common occurrence. Number one TE commits to alabama number two TE commits to UGA a few days later and we steal a three star from Appalachian state? Against UGA we looked slow and small and not as talented. You cannot teach speed? On a side note is anyone else annoyed that both the Swinney boys are on scholarship? They wouldn’t be on a D-1 roster anywhere. Not as a walk on and certainly not as a scholarship player. It’s a joke. We lose a safety in the portal because we’re playing a super senior back there who Dabo is very loyal to but let’s be honest he’s not that talented. ###### in our Armor showing and recruits are taking notice. Leaner times up ahead

Glad to have the guy - nobody has ANY idea how he will pan out.
Something tells me he is going to work VERY hard - he's just realized a dream of a lifetime.
We should all be so fortunate !

Now, I feel old since Sapp was the QB when I was a student.
