I remember those games at Clemson where the FSU players pushed their way through the band to flip-off the Clemson players while they ran down the Hill. Guess Bowden (like the game and ACC officials) never saw that. I remember Free Shoes University. I remember FSU players being suspended... for practice, but still playing on Saturday. I remember multiple FSU players being arrested in the 80' and 90's. Bobby Bowden was no Dabo.

Players parents have them for the first 18 years, college coaches have them for anywhere from 1 to 4 years. Doubt Bobby instilled in them it’s ok to flip off fans, steal ,and or overall just disappoint 123me

WOW!! You know, there is a time and a place for everything. I am a Clemson fan through and through. I am a Dabo fan also. Dabo is a great man. This article is about how our coach was inspired by another great coach. Don’t try to cheapen the words of our coach with nonsense like you have posted. That is childish and is not the way of a true “TIGER” fan 123me. As TIGERS we are better than that. Please delete your comment. I know this is a forum where we can post our comments at free will. That was distasteful!

Coach Bobby Bowden will be missed. He was one of the good guys in the coaching profession. I never liked him kicking our butts, but he did it with class. I'm glad Dabo shared his conversation with coach Bowden. Dabo is a class act all the way... he can be a little hokie at times, but his heart is always in the right place.

if Dabo continues as he's started the past 13 yrs Coach Bowden will pale in comparison to Coach Swinney and I'm not just talking just about X's & O's and wins & losses. Our thought and prayers go out to the Bowden family.
Go Tigers!

Those wide rights and wide lefts caused FSU to miss out on national championship opportunities at least four times, but they finally broke through in 1993. It took Bobby 18 years and several disappointments before the Seminoles did it. Dabo won it all in half the time. All Tiger fans should be very thankful Dabo is the head coach.

Cool details. I never made the connection Stallings was under Landry! So Dabo has a place under his coaching tree. Landry would be proud of this branch, I would think. Always admired Landry's faith, work ethic/influence, and innovative coaching...then Jerry Jones happened... Glad the prior, including Bowden, didn't lose sight of their God-given purpose and have leveraged platform/hard work to spread good news of Christ.

Coach Bowden was a class act and should be remembered that way. Perhaps he stayed at FSU too long, but even in his final years he was a better coach than Fischer was He would not have put up with the type of kids that came in after he retired. "Dad gum" were his swear words. He will be missed. Rest in peace Coach Bowden. Your work here is done.
