Because he guessed Carolina was going to change their offense. They didn’t. And Sammy had been instrumental stopping or slowing Sellers from scrambling so well. Hard to do that standing on the sidelines waiting to go in. Dumb decision.

This just keeps getting worse and worse.
Intentionally taking our best defender off the field in a one score game?
Pathetic.

You would think by that decision he was trying to throw the game. Dabo and Wes must be dumb and dumber.

To Dabo. What do you think Venables would’ve said if he said I’m gonna hold our best linebacker out for the fourth quarter?

It’s real simple. Until they make drastic changes…don’t make a change to what’s been working!

Remember us holding Baylon Spector in the playoffs who was the MVP of the previous game. Head scratchers.

type of decision ought to remain with the DC.
As for offensive play-calling, I'm thinking if the OC is good enough, then he should be calling. If not, then a new one should be hired.
If a HC is involving himself constantly on both sides of the ball, then he has to guard against micro-management, always a surefire recipe for disaster, even in the business world.
I don't know about Dabo's role, other than rumors or accusations. But I am curious about that Waffle House menu he flashes around....lol.

haha ANOTHER STUPID coaching decision. These coaches get paid millions to make those kind of decisions. The average football fan knows Sellers isn't a pass first type qb, so why would they change their offense to something that doesn't work with their players schematically. Oh thats right, THEY WOULDN'T!

Moved it back to the 4-3. They didn't change, they kept running the ball. When we all saw it wasn't working they must have too. Why not switch back to the d that held them to 240 yds and 7 pts? Not well it's what we practiced all week. For Pete's sake man. Also we were told Wes was the best in game manager, so this contradicts that.

Dabo implied in his press conference that SB has no experience with defending the option, so that’s why he didn’t play. I could make a case for several others who apparently didn’t have experience either.
Still, I’m going to keep pointing out that defense did not lose the game. 17 points should not have beaten us. I’m not defending our allowing Sellers to run all over us, but the defense did enough to win.

Look I really like Dabo & I have taken up for him many times, but his answer to the question about Sammy being on the sideline was one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. Either he is covering for his DC or he knows he has no acceptable answer. His response just made me even madder about some of the stupid decisions Saturday.

I think you may have misread or misquoted accidentally. Unless there’s a different article
What Dabo actually said was “We felt they were going to change the way they were going to play, but nothing more than that,”
Note he said “WE”.
And if you know anything about being a leader, you take the blame in public. He was never going to pin something specific like that on Wes publicly
Personally I think Wes is gone. I certainly wouldn’t fall out of my chair if he is dismissed after next weekend.
