My thoughts on people selling tickets.. What universe are yall on to sell tickets and packages for the prices you are setting. I think it is absolutely insane. Have you though of people that don't have that kind of money. This is why middle to lower class fans can't go to the games like they once could. I personally think yall should be ashamed of yourselves. End rant, I just had to get that off my chest. Yall can proceed with the rest of your day now.

You could always join IPTAY at a lower level and get your own tickets. I do agree with you that some try and get back their IPTAY dues when selling tickets. I disagree with doing that but it's their tickets and they can set their price. Personally, I rarely sell tickets and if I do I like to think it's reasonable. Normally I just give them to someone who can't usually attend a game. To each their own.

I agree that they are entitled to do what they want, that's true. It just bothers me that esp. with the LSU tickets they are selling "packages" for over $1000 when everyday folks cant sniff that. I could join iptay yes, but its not in my cards currently.

The average person (especially with a family) can no longer afford to go to the games. The LSU matchup is perhaps the best game on the schedule so you might have better luck buying tickets to the Furman or Troy games at a reasonable cost. I have long hated folks trying to recoup their IPTAY dues when selling tickets, but I imagine most everyone is doing what they can to mitigate the cost of buying season tickets.

Today Is the 1st time on the market pricing.
It Happens every year.
I too hate it when people use their donation as justification for their pricing.
You are asking a 1000 cause you can get a 1000... there is no need to justify it any Other way.

I definitely understand everyone's thoughts and explanation. It just is a lil bothersome when I see it. Yall are right, its everything nowadays. Prices are killing the American middle class. Its hard times for many many people. Hopefully one day things will be better.

So will you be complaining when you see tickets for the Furman and Wofford games being sold BELOW face value? Of course not! The fact is, the listed price for the ticket is not the total price. IPTAY dues, and seat Equity plan also factor into the ticket cost. I guess you are just expecting season ticket holders to 'eat' this cost LOL?......

Tickets have not been release. Very few tickets are on the secondary market. The games are so far away...
example situation - UGA / Clemson tickets were $800-$1200 on the secondary market during the spring and summer. In Aug those same tickets were $300-$400.
The folks selling right now are just pricing accordingly to FOMO

Neither he nor the previous incompetent crook, nor any of the crooks on either side of the aisle, have anything to do with what Clemson tickets are selling for.
Why would someone complain that someone who just shelled out $1000 to IPTAY and $1200 for a couple of tickets wants $2200 for their tickets when for them to get the same tickets they would probably have to donate $3,000 to IPTAY and $1200 for tickets. Unless you have been an IPTAY member for 20 years in those seats, you are not going to join at the $1000 level and get good tickets, say in the lower bowl.
If people are smart, they can go to just about every game this season for a whole lot less than I paid for my tickets, much less than my tickets plus IPTAY.

Agree.
Well one disagreement. Giving to IPTAY I dont believe is a "donation" that is recognized anymore if you get preferential seating. I would imagine that is 95% or greater of our "IPTAY" supporters. That changed under President Trump, who in fairness raised the Standard Deduction. Not trying to be political, but if people who are not IPTAY folks dont realize that, they should. Its not a "tax deduction" anymore. And with the kids now getting paid... Well we will not go there.
I agree with you on everything else. And further more, seat equity, seat license, its all the same. It is how Clemson raises funds to support the whole system. They set the levels and the price to help cover costs. IE the athletic department and IPTAY work together, as they should. So when anyone buys tickets, just think you are helping row the boat. As you should be. We all enjoy the success, so we all need to bear the price.
Just my thoughts.

I do wonder how this will affect sports long term.
When you and your kids can only watch on TV vs being able to afford to go to games will they grow up with the same love for X Y or Z sport/team or will this erode sports fandom in the long term.

Most of the ticket prices I see equate to roughly the face value of the ticket plus the seat equity amount. This makes sense to me as the fair market value. We have had an arrangement like this since 2017 and it has worked well for all involved. I don’t see how it is reasonable to expect someone who makes a large IPTAY donation to sell their tickets for much if any less that that.

BUT if they are able to get the prices they are asking, it's just supply and demand in action.
It is a shame that Clemson football (and many, many other things) are unaffordable to a lot of folks now. I remember having a $100 budget for games (for a family of 3) not too long ago...

When I was 12 years old ...... a long time ago .......my mother would give me a dollar ($1.00) ..... one that I had probably earned, and drop me and a friend off on 123 about where the White Horse Road Drive-In was located in Greenville. We would hitch hike to Clemson, buy a hamburger and coke at Dan's and for $.50 gain admission to the Clemson game and sit on the hill. I became a Clemson fan rather than a Furman fan, because Furman charged $2.00 (I think) for kids to get in Sirrine Stadium. Oh, I went to most of their games, but it was either over or under the fence surrounding the stadium. The black kids that lived on the upper side of the stadium usually provided some holes in the fence.
PS: I also admit to getting four people into the 1978 Clemson - Notre game with one ticket. I will not divulge the secret, although I think the statute of limitations has long passed.

Because during that period, there were many white kids that would not go in that neighborhood, and if you lived in Greenville, you knew that it was a black neighborhood. I was not one of those that would not go in ..... because I didn't have a problem with it. I often talk about the mill villages here in Greenville and do it to put it in context, not to try and put myself above anyone. You don't erase history by ignoring it.

I’m not middle, but I guess in today’s economy, I would be classed lower class. I work hard but unfortunately my pay isn’t that great as of now, since I started into a new profession. I understand people trying to get their money back but it’s hard for me to believe that tickets are that high face value. Also if you donate that much then I wouldn’t see it hurting their pockets to even lower it some. But the struggle is real and just trying to survive!

What do you think they should cost?
Do you feel that the costs are out of line with similar schools/programs?
How do you propose the prices be lowered?

If selling our IPTAY purchased tickets were a business, most of us would end up in the red at the end of the year. For the occasional game that a IPTAY member can recoup some donation money, we are chastised. On the flip side, I don’t see y’all lining up to pay us face value when we take a bath on a resell which is most games.

Again i understand everyone's side of the coin. I was just stating that i feel that some prices are outrageous and that they should be lowered. I don't have a crystal ball on what they should be or what other schools are charging and i don't really care what they are doing. If it was me i cant see upper deck tickets being more than $125 and that is for big games and lower bowl i can see it being $175- $325. Now again thats for the biggest opponents we have. Thats just my 2 cent.
