The big WHAT IF question on Portal

The vote on an extra year was originally set for December, but it's now in front of a judge & waiting on his decision. Here's a scenario that I have not seen covered, but looking for any input:

WHAT IF THE JUDGE GRANTS THE EXTRA YEAR TODAY?
--The Portal closed on Tuesday the 22nd, so players can't jump from team to team. Let's say that Scheff decides he wants to stay at Clemson. This choice affects somebody like Nick Davidson who now thinks "he's going to take most of my playing time" and wants to go somewhere else.

--IF the extra year is now allowed, can Davidson leave Clemson? I would like to think he's signed what is similar to a Letter of Intent & is bound by it, but who knows these days!?

--IF Scheff returns, is Davidson "stuck" here or could choose to sit out a year. But would that cancel out his eligible due to when he started playing like in football?

The extra COVID year notwithstanding...

student athletes currently have five years to play four. The NCAA can grant dispensations for injury- related issues or based on the new JuCo rule.

With respect to Nick Davidson, he redshirted his freshman year at Nevada (21-22), and then played extensively throughout the 22-23, 23-24, and 24-25 seasons which means, he has one year of eligibility remaining.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

If a bullfrog could fly, he would not hit his @#@ on the ground. The Schef chose to leave without having any guarantee of another year so why would he change his mind?

Maybe he got input at Portsmouth

that they didn’t think he was NBA material this year, but they shared what he needed to work on for next year’s Draft.

Davidson's better. Not an issue.

it would be more of Carter Welling that would be effected more from Shieff returning. Davidson can start at the center next to Shieff. They would pay more for Davidson to stay rather than Welling.
