Spoiled by winning narrative.

This narrative perpetuated by some…including even our head coach, unfortunately……is a complete BS excuse to try to mitigate the pressure of today’s environment.

Winning is the expectation and has always been for at least most of us.

The difference between the last 3-4 years and the prior is simple……it’s talent and the recruiting/retaining of. Sure, in today’s environment, the acquisition and maintaining of that talent has changed due to NIL, etc…….but one thing has NOT changed……the goal of winning.

And not just beating the tomato cans all over our schedule…….its lining up and beating everyone; which we did at a high clip for a long time.

It’s the duty of the leaders of our program to adapt to the ever changing environment to ensure that the goal is always met………unfortunately, we have simply not been doing so recently.

That’s not being spoiled…..that’s being factual.

Recruiting…..high school and yes, portal…..is the life blood of any team in today’s football. Until we return back to the best practices that got us to the top tier not all that long ago, we are going to be stuck in irrelevancy not matter what conference we are or are not in.

Apologies for the rant

So by most of us do you mean people born after 2000?
You people are spoiled by winning and it is Dabo That brought the winning!
However Clemson is still winning!
The whole narrative of Clemson is a loser is stupidity!
The narrative of I deserve to have my team win every game is ludicrous!
You are spoiled !!!

Championships, league and otherwise, should always be the goal. When we had the talent (depth to match) we won those. I think that’s a fair Statement.

You can call that spoiled……I really don’t care.

At least I’m not satisfied or complacent…….that gets you beat

You do realize that we've only had one "undefeated" season in recent history. Prior to 2018, our previous undefeated season was in 1981. Yes, the goal is winning. That's still the case. But you aren't going to win them all. Ask Alabama! Ask Georgia! Ask tOSU! Your post intrigues me in that you infer that it's in Dabo's contract to win all the games. Have you read the contract? It's public information. You can find it if you want to. It says nothing about winning every game, or every Champtionship. It says that we compete at the highest level. We're still doing that. Rest assured, nobody likes losing; especially not Dabo and the players. But give credit where credit is due. Our guys are busting their tails everyday to be the best. We fans lounge around on the sofa with a hot dog in our hands and complain that "we aren't satisfied!" The coaches and players aren't satisfied! So give it a rest. Or go pull for the Yard Birds! Their coach uses the portal, and they're wining. Go Tigers!

Once you get to the top fans including me want to stay there. You think Alabama, Ohio State, and Georgia would not be upset if they became average in their conference as we are. This will be the 4th year in a row being left out of the ACC championship game and no playoff appearance. We are not necessarily looking to win the ACC every year or to win a natty that often but we don’t like having to have miracle plays just to beat average teams in our conference. Our talent level overall has slipped and SC seems to be out recruiting us in our own state. That is a fact.

How many National Championships has Ohio State won in the last decade?
There is really only 3 teams in the discussion and that is Clemson , Georgia and Alabama!

No one else has more than 1…
You are not giving Dabo credit for having you in the rarefied air that you have grown a custom too and for some reason think you deserve!!

Dabo is the Greatest coach in CFB history.
Perhaps Saban has won a few more but He did it at Alabama with all of their built in benefits!

Clemson had not won anything since 1983 save a very few ACC Championships!

The only reason you can even have your delusional thoughts of grandeur is William Christopher Swinney!

You and others keep referencing the distant past.

We all know that Dabo has won two national championships and multiple ACC championships here. We are all very proud of those accomplishments and admire him for them.

But guess what? We haven’t been nearly that good recently. We are no longer elite. We are a good, but not great, program. If that’s okay with some of you, that’s your right. But please stop calling the rest of us spoiled for still having high expectations for the program which is funded incredibly well and has everything it needs to be one of the best college football programs.

How many Championships have you won personally?
I am not sure how old you are but just perhaps your frame of reference is not sufficient!
2 or 3 years is not a long time and 10 years isn’t really long either.
But to act like Clemson is a losing program because they did not win a national championship is ridiculous!
Your entire stance is petulant and crazy!

It's being unrealistic. Years like 2015-20 simply aren't going to happen consistently.

It happens for many other teams. So, you think we should be happy with average. We are not going to be in the top 12 teams this year much less top 4

Actually it doesn’t.
I get it. Recruiting has fallen off and we aren’t the dominant top 2 teams that we were during our CFP runs. Fans are in an uproar over the last 4 years, however Clemson is still in the top 10 for wins over this span.
I’m hopeful that we will see an uptick in talent acquisition when we start revenue sharing (2025?).

Time out.

Look at our data: we got some 5*s that everyone evaluated who ended up sucking over the last several years.

And now, the landscape has changed with boosters/NIL money... guess what? We don't have enough rich people.

We raised about $3.5 million for all sports this year.

OhioState raise $20m for their football team alone this year.

Unless you're gonna start writing bigger checks, we are going to continue to struggle to retain/pay new talent.

The landscape has drastically changed. Let's all hope we can allow players to get revshare from the university - that's going to be our biggest help.

Averaging 10 wins a year for 4 years is now enough to demand the all time winningest coach with 2 NCs be fired.
