Would going to 7 innings with 4 outs per inning save time and make the game more exciting? It would eliminate 2 inning change overs which last forever. It would create an extra out.
Another time killer is pitching changes. It should be the teams responsibility to have the pitcher warmed up. Give the pitcher 3 warmup throws from the mound. This should take less than 5 minutes.

Most people would like to see changes. Its far too slow of a game. Has about as much excitement as watching geriatrics play putt-putt. While they are at it, needs to be FEWER games as well. The season length is beyond absurd.

If you really want to speed-up the games, limit the time the teams have to get on and off the field between innings. Limit it to 3 minutes and put a time clock on it.

The television networks don't want to speed-up the games...

because that would equate to less time for advertising and the revenue that generates.

The current average time of game is 2 hours and 37 minutes, down from an average at this point last year of 3 hours and 5 minutes.
That’s about a 15% decrease in game length. Id say that’s pretty significant.
In contrast, the average NFL game reportedly takes 3 hours and 12 minutes to complete, and the average time for a college football game is 3 hours and 24 minutes.

baseball is a sport more aligned with chess than any other physical sport.
This pitch clock and batters clock is dumb, but at least it keeps the pace moving while riling up the pitcher/batter/coaches which is always a good thing as it creates excitement.
You can always choose to watch the last couple of innings if 2.5 to 3 hours is too much.

Right.. Just to cater to everyone who isn't going to watch the game anyway. They've already sped it way up with rule changes. Leave the game alone.

Change the game as follows
1. One strike and you are out.
2. One out per inning.
3.Shorten bases to have only first base and home plate.
4.Reduced from 9 innings to 3 innings.
Shorten the season to 12 games.
Game should last about 15 mins. That is about the attention span of the average American.

Jeter Interview with Colin Cowherd Today (7/10)

Jeter said he liked faster MLB games now averaging 2 hrs 15 mins per game with between-pitch counts.. Jeter said when Yanks played Red Sox back in the day, games would often run over 4 hrs. He said the players have other things to do after the games, so faster games were a win-win for fans and players.

Raise the mound where it should be and call the strike zone like the book says. Too much hitting with every advantage to the hitter. The best baseball game is a score of one to nothing-a pitchers' duel.
They're catering to the Xbox generation, now, with football. Flashing light shows, take seats out to put in handier stuff in hopes the xboxers are thrilled by that and will come back. I go to see the game and don't want things that wows liberals
