I'd check Dollar General first. If the store closest to you doesn't have it, just wait a week and check the new one they build 300 yards from the other one.

Thx for sharing. The great thing about bourbon is you can find great pours that are relatively inexpensive. Elijah Craig small batch is top notch stuff IMO and you can get a 1.75 for $50. If you want to splurge, Hillrock is magnificent. It'll set you back about $90, but it is fantastic. Never pay more than $100 for a bottle of bourbon. There is no real benefit IMO. Scotch on the other hand......

As a change of pace give Old Forrester 100 proof Rye

a try in addition to your regular bourbon poor .I didn't know a thing about rye but it was America's whiskey before bourbon .George Washington distilled rye for his tavern in Alexandria Virginia and in the Old West cowboys bought rye in saloons . Bourbon wasn't widespread outside New Orleans and the Mississippi River Valley until after prohibition.Old Forrester Rye has a mashbill of 65 % rye and 35 % corn and it has boubon notes with a spicy rye kick .It will run you about $25 to $ 30 a bottle.

I highly recommend the OF rye. The 100 proof bourbon (Signature) is also great. The 1910 and 1920 are excellent if you can splurge a little.

First and foremost who you calling a snob? On the other hand I am a French red wine snob and a good double cast scotch snob. I’m really excited about a McCallan. And I’m fortunate to have power and am set for the game Go tigers!

paasionate about defendin' theah imbibatory choices. I rarely venture into the hard stuff at all, and even when I do, it's some mixing stuff like Patron Silver Taqwilla. Super smooth, and when you go to get up out of the chair, you suddenly realize it's better to just keep sitting 'cause you got snockered.
I have a niece who is a borderline souse. Saw the reply above about Jim Beam Black. Niece says Jim Beam is just "Uncle Jack's" poorer cousin. Like I said, she's pretty much a souse at this point.
