1. You have to scout and study your opponent and game plan to take advantage of their weaknesses.
2. You have to be able to change the momentum of a game and not keep doing whatever is not working over and over.
3. The importance of being able to change defenses on different possessions to include during the same possession.
4. Teams that play zone dislike playing against a zone. And teams that press well hate to be pressed. (Coach John Ross Wade Hampton High School back in the 60’s and 70’s)
5. In order to play well offensively against a match up zone defense you have to know how to play one against your opponent.
6. You don’t play for one shot at the end of the half when you are down 20!
7. When playing a trapping press (and down by 20 at the end of a game) you have to trap on EVERY possession and never run away from the trap
8. The critical part of the trap is not the trap itself, but the importance of having a man in the middle in position to intercept that next pass.
BB looked like a deer in headlights yesterday conferring with his assistant coaches. This was after his in game interview where he said “we will get it figured out.” Once down by 12 or 14 in the first half we should have changed the momentum by going to a zone defense, just as they were playing, to stop them from driving to the basket, pushed the ball up the floor more quickly, and occasionally pressed rather than waiting until 7 minutes to go where the game was likely out of reach.

These points are laughable. No coach in division 1 basketball, or any college level for that matter, don’t coach these things.

Maybe some coaches coach them better than others. Not sure you were watching the game yesterday or for the last 15 years.

I have been screaming about the rebounding fundamentals that Brad doesn't teach. And yes other coaches do. If you want to talk X and Os about these fundamentals he doesn't coach, I'm here for you. Let's talk details. I know what I'm talking about.

Also, why would you NOT play for 1 shot? With 30 seconds left, you’re only getting one good shot anyways.

One would have thought he figured all of that out in 14 years. Now he has 6 more years to try and get the light bulb burning.

And we never got them into the bonus.
When you have trouble scoring, it is best to
force the issue and get to the FT line.
We are a pretty good FT shooting team.
We did that in the second half and that helped.
I put this primarily on Chase...he needed to get
to the lane in the first half and just didn't.
We also needed to get it into the post early and
get to the line. We didn't.
