Some things I can understand, some things I can't.

What I can understand: Concern for innocent Palestinians in Gaza who are suffering as a result of Israel's military actions.

What I can't understand: Using the above to support Hamas, a straight-up murdering, terrorist organization funded by a counrty openly and proudly dedicated to the destruction of everything American (Iran). I can't understand the burning of the American flag and replacing it with the Palestinian flag, and Americans falling for the twisted notion of America and Israel being THE bad guys here. I support the free speech and freedom of expression for all of such people, but what I don't understand is why any American would side with such evil or not use their own free speech to overwhelmingly rebuke such nonsense. I can't understand using this to condone anti-semetism and deny Israel's right to decisively end the threat Hamas poses to their safety and security once and for all.

false dichotomy: that you either fully support Israel and are willing to go die for their cause, or you are a Hamas-loving terrorist.

You're right, tbe protestors don't make any sense. That is because they are astroturfed, probably by Israel.

only think in absolutes.

If I don't like Israeli actions in Gaza, then the other side must be righteous. If Trump bad, Biden/Harris good, and vice versa.

It makes perfect sense once you realize they hate Jews and hate America. I mean just ask them and believe it when they tell you. No need to doubt their sincerity or make up conspiracy theories.

Nor can I understand Netanyahu and the IDF being unprepared and incredibly slow to react to O7 attacks given Israeli intelligence reports warning of such an attack. Nor can I understand Netanyahu support for continuing and extending West Bank settlements. Yet Israel and the Jewish people not just Netanyahu. So opposition to Netanyahu and support for Israel and Jewish people are not mutually exclusive.

Hamas is an evil terrorist organization that is really holding all Palestinians as hostages. Intertwining their terrorist operations into hospitals, schools and densely populated areas is horrifying _ in essence terrorizing innocent Gazans. Hamas needs to be eradicated but the Israeli methods used to achieve that goal have created disproportionately high casualties and a humanitarian crisis. Again Netanyahu has approved if not directed those military methods. Much like the above, condemning Hamas and supporting the concerns of innocent Palestinians are not mutually exclusive. And Netanyahu leadership in executing the Gazan operation is not above reproach.

Finally Netanyahu stays in power as result of the Hamas conflict or new wars with Hezbollah or Iran. Ending these conflicts and freeing the remaining hostages are at odds with his ability to stay in power. This is a tough reality for the families of the hostages. It’s reasonable to question Netanyahu’s motives _ are they in the best interests of Israel or driven by personal interests?

Outstanding analysis and commentary.

BTW, Netanyahu is on record for despising America, but our bought-&-paid for Congress will continue to ignore this.
