Only heard stories about the great Danny Ford, didnt live through the Peter and Andy Ford years, didnt go through the ups and downs of Tommy W or Tommy B, and it shows..
Could be better, but #### sure could be worse. Hopefully the bandwagon is nice and light and we can enjoy the season now .

Pretty much by definition, if the band wagon stays light...it's NOT going to be an enjoyable year.

the "rest on your laurels" phase of his career.
Much like Joe Paterno and Bobby Bowden after winning National Championships, he seems content with 2-3 losses per year(and most schools fans would be happy with that as well).
Is the focus turning to the periphery, not motivated by wins and losses as much as accolades for himself and his players, retention rates and the stories that are created around him.
Is having a legendary, above-average coach better than the Tommy West coaches?
Would we have to suffer through like Florida after Urban Meyer with Muschamp, Mcelwain, Mullen and Napier for the next 15 years? That'd suck.
So the real question is does Dabo still really have the drive and innovative to win another NC? Or should we be happy to support a team that has an upright moral coach who will keep us in the conversation for the conference and playoffs? Or do we roll the dice hoping to find the next great Championship coach?

I was trying to just look at where the fans are in a rational manner.

I don't actually have an opinion right now.
That was my mistake.

Dabo isn't resting on his laurels. This is what is happening:

He's not the type of guy to stomach the era of bidding wars over players, tampering, etc. His desire to compete using his "loyalty and family" approach will prove unsustainable next year. Soon after, he will step down on his own like Saban and Clawson (WF) did, citing "This ain't the sport I love".

And of course, in referencing Tommy West, I'm obligated to include the following statement:
Tommy West was a good man -- just wasn't quite ready to be a HC for us at the time.

well In commission sales you get paid for what you sold not what you might sell! Not what you have the potential to sell. Dabo earned His salary anyway you cur it! If you can't understand that there is not much hope for you!
BTW just in case this team goes on a run and is playing in the playoffs please don't jump on board and cheer. When is the last time Dabo's team won the conference? Oh yeah that's right Last year. And don't give me that crap about how bad the ACC is there were 17 other teams that did not win it last year!

i played in that era and it was certainly rough, but we can't judge by those standards. The bar has been raised in terms of expectations and we should not want to go back to that phase in our program. For that reason I would argue that if there isn't sufficient growth this year, that only way to continue moving forward is to make a change from the top down.

He could find a way to beat the cOOts and got carried off the field on his last game as HBC. Nevermind that the rest of the season may have been a disaster.
