So just how good is Miami?

From FSU's point of view, they are much much much better than Clemson. From Wake's point of view, they are no where as close as good as Clemson. Perhaps FSU isn't as good as we thought. I don't know...I'm relly confused. I wished we would have played like this against the Noles.

anything can happen. Ya just never know.
I personally think UM is pretty good. They have gotten better as the season has gone on. No idea what happened to them last week against WF. Guess WF played their best game.
Sometimes it comes down to match-ups. Sometimes it comes down to these being college kids - not professionals.

Maybe FSU fell victim to all the hype...

and thought they were good enough to mail it in. Maybe Miami got real pyssed off after nearly getting whacked by a terrible Wake Forest team in their home stadium. Maybe Winston got some tabasco sauce in his eyes at dinner and can't see his receivers very well.
Whatever the case, it seems that the transitive property of common opponents in college football often fails in the actual games. That said, I sure wish we had saved our best game for FSU.

But I'd feel much more confident in our prospects at the world's biggest outdoor henhouse if we had acquitted ourselves more admirably at home against the 'noles.

Perhaps initial rumors of FSU's potential demise
Nov 2, 2013, 11:07 PM

were somewhat exaggerated. They appear to have the game well in hand now. If this is an off night for them, they're pretty dammed good. They're legit.

And every game is its own entity, different schemes, player matchups, etc.
I personally think Miami took wake as a bye week, much like how scar always play cream puff univ before us. And now we are doing similar before we play scar.
We were physically worn after bc, and fsu had a true bye. No matter how big a dumper you are you have to factor that in to our unusually terrible play that night.

From Clemson dumpers view, they may be much much better than Clemson...in FSU'd and if looked at reality (non dumper style), it may have "appeared that way...but the stats say otherwise...
Clemson vs FSU Offense stats: CLEM 1st Downs 26 Total Yards 326 Passing 203 Rushing 123 Penalties 7-96 3rd Down Conversions 5-15 4th Down Conversions 3-5 Turnovers 4 Possession 24:39
Miami vs FSU: 1st Downs 15 3rd down efficiency 3-11 4th down efficiency 1-3 Total Yards 241 Passing 158 Rushing 83 Penalties 2-5 Turnovers 2 Possession 20:24
And they ended with the EXACT same 14 points as Clemson. SO the difference...Miami's Defense play vs Winston being a bit better to keep Fl State's scores down a bit better, or more or less the reality...the 2 two extra turnovers in the Clemson game that allowed the difference in Fl State's score. They JUST got the same blowout, minus Miami not messing themself up in the extra turnovers from a bad day.
KNow the dumpers don't want to hear that, but after our win today and comparing the real stats....I'll just go with Fl State is THAT dang good.

What's the difference when our extra turnovers took our home crowd out in the first quarter? Home field advantage only works when the crowd is in it...

Personally, I think the difference was team mentality. Clemson doesn't handle success very well...Dabo gets too happy with himself and so does Tajh. The week of our game with FSU, all the Noles saw were endless interviews with Dabo and Tajh talking about his legacy. How Death Valley is the most wondrous place in the world. They came into our game with a huge chip on their shoulder while we came in fat and happy. We all know what happened next.
This week Miami was hearing all the praise for FSU and so this time they came in with a chip on their shoulder...the difference is the leadership at FSU didn't allow their guys to become complacent like they did on our side.
