There is great QB depth in the ACC this year too to bottom.
In my opinion the best QB conference this year, and a lot of that will be because of Cade, but also Carson Beck, Darien Mensah transfer from Tulane to Duke, Haynes King, Kevin Jennings, Miller Miss from USC (real one) to Louisville, any QB coached by Belichick, Thomas Castellanos is good,
There’s not many weak spots😂 and we play most of them
So while Tom Allen will improve our defense, expect some unreal plays out of those QBs anyways
LSU: 24-17 Clemson
Troy: 52-14 Clemson
@ GT: 27-10 Clemson
Syracuse (“Fran Appreciation Day”): 56-24 Clemson
@ UNC: 21-3 Clemson
@ BC: 38-10 Clemson
SMU: 35-17 Clemson
Duke: 24-14 Clemson
FSU: 27-17 Clemson
@ Louisville: 31-21 Clemson
Furman: 42-0 Clemson
@ SC: 38-35 Clemson (Hauser wins it)
ACC Championship vs Miami : 45-23 Clemson
#1 Seed

For a top level of defense you predict us to give up a lot of points. I don’t disagree with the verdict but the defense isn’t going to give up that many points.

Our great defenses always give up more points than expected because Dabo plays 100+ players every time possible to develop young guys. We give up a lot of garbage time points.

I agree. Our 1st team D rarely gives up points. It's typically late in the game, when we are ahead, that our 2nd, 3rd and beyond string get valuable playing time to learn. This is when other teams historically score most of their points.

Thanks rhett (not sarcasm), I tried to imply that in my original post

During our best years under Venables, there were still some games where we gave up a lot.
I also know that there is great QB depth all around this year in the ACC

2 losses. One in the playoffs and one random one in the season. Obviously hopefully undefeated of course.

That’s what you would think, but I think this team will have an edge to them.
An edge that allows them to shine “under the lights”. Handle adversity more easily than most teams.

I don't see the Dirt Scratchers scoring more than 17 points.
I can see Clemson scoring 28 points on them simply because the offense needs to better than last year against them and I think they will.

I doubt we will see a team go 15-0 and then run the table in the playoffs after that…This new format favors teams thst peak at the right time, and get healthy right before the playoffs.

I remember when people said the same about going 15-0 after already going 12-0 or 13-0
Guess who did that first?
I think you can play up to 16 games
Although yeah I agree, I would rather say that it allows you breathing room for losses. Not favors teams that “get hot”
Ohio State had the best roster last year and we all knew it.
Notre Dame was certainly always capable of doing what they did, even with that stupid loss to Northern Illinois I believe.
Texas persevered because of its roster and advantages gained like home-field against Clemson. They just had to run into Ohio State, that’s all.
The best teams made it through regardless.
And you could also use your point in the perspective of a 4-team CFP anyways.
We lost to Pitt in 2016, but had another chance because there were 4 spots available. And we got help.
It’s breathing room for losses for though. It was made to favor anybody.

Wow, so an average margin of victory of nearly 20 points per game?

It’s just really hard to go undefeated. There’s a slipup in there somewhere. 11 wins. There’s enough questions left to be answered and plenty of good teams that they play. They won’t get the #1 seed and that should be obvious as to why.

8-4….. we are 2-2 out the gate and we still will lose 2 out of Louisville, fsu, duke and scar . We have an overrated dline. Last year they weren’t that good and now they are #1??? I don’t buy it…. We have no food LB outside of an inexperienced Sammy brown. Woodaz is average as heck. He’s weak slow and takes bad angles or maybe he’s just that slow it looks like a good angle until he gets toasted…… cornerbacks I think will be fine but we have no proven or even highly talented safeties. We can’t cover LSU so we better get pressure but we never do that with just the dline….offensively is where a lot of hype is. Online should be good. Cade should be really good. Receivers are better. This is where Dabo scares me. When the defense has talent you know they’ll perform. The offense on the other hand must be allowed to play ball. Don’t handcuff and baby them. Let cade sling it. If we are running well then continue to pound it until adjustments are made. Don’t overthink the play calling Riley

Nice 🙂... I hope we can pull it off, and I honestly think this is the year we do it. CK2 is primed💯, our WR are something special and we added a really good portal addition to WR room, OL is full of Dudes 😎.... Add in top DC Allen to make a major turnaround on defense, I look for LB Sammy Brown to have a All American campaign under BB tutulage... DL will have 4 All-ACC players .... 15-0 baby !! 🏆ACC Championship 🏆 National Championship 🏆
Go Tigers!! 💪💪
