Returning Starters: 9-Off and 8-Def

Losing just Mafah and Stool really on the O, but that could help anyway with some talented young blood at RB and more focus to the WR trio. Defense could actually be an upgrade with Sammy taking Carter's spot. DLine should be fine, my only concern is Safety losing Mickens and Covil. Hopefully someone like Jones or Dixon will step up and Barnes gets back on track. Next year has a chance to be special, we were a very young team last season....couple seasons really.

How are we looking on Special Teams? The forgotten 1/3 of a football team.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Special teams of more like 20% or less...

It's one down in 4. Important but not 1/3 important.

We get our new kick returner back and at RB.. FG kicker is back but punter is a potential issue.

Sorry for the confusion. I was looking at it as offense, defense, and special teams. Probably should have said three fazes instead of 1/3.

I think TE we will be okay with Pat Henry. I'm not sure how rb is going to be though. We need a stud to step up.

I don’t think our TEs will be as much of receiving threats as Jake was, but I do think they’ll be better blockers, at least according to some of the PFF grades I saw.

Don’t sleep on Bentacuer. Kids a bonafide stud.

He was a better route runner than Brinningstool in high school and top TE prospect of his class

I’m a Pat -Henry fan. He is a good blocker that can play H-Back, in-line TE and flex out as a big WR. I hope he gets a chance.

Healthy Mafah was a bad man. We can be solid without him, but he was an elite bruiser when healthy. We rode that 3 legged horse later in the year, but the offense was different when he was healthy and in the game. Next man up sure, but let’s not minimize what he was early this year.

Yup if he was healthy at the end of the year I would have liked our chances.
