Well, sometimes band aids won't do the job. Grill up to temp, getting ready to stick the meat in. Saw one little piece of heavy fat that needed gone. BAM! Super sharp paring knife almost to the bone. Ain't got no time for a Dr. right now.

Yep, tie wraps should be added to the universal mechanics kit of duct tape and

WD-40.
If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If you made it move in pieces unintentionally, use the tie wraps!

Should have let that fat get burned away. And Band-Aids are a necessity, especially when you nick your thumb at exactly the spot needed to grip everything. I did that this week & couldn’t do anything without starting the blood flowing again without one

That usually works for me too. Tried and put the band as tight as I could, never slowed it down. Steady drip, right thru the band aid.

I did something similar but took a day to ask a Dr friend. By that time, she said just to keep changing bandages and let nature work. Next time, I got to it in time

Wading the river to catch smallmouth bass. Kept it covered in super glue for a month so I could keep getting in the river....BAD MISTAKE!! Almost git a pretty bad infection by not letting air get to it. Mrs. Spud is head of Micro at the hospital. She was about ready to kill me for doing that...
