typical nonsense from a liberal, elitist school.when i left CU for grad school at tufts in boston,i found that my fellow students, some of whom had attended harvard, brown, and penn, were no better prepared than i was.you can get a lousy education at a big name school or a great education at a no name school, which CU certainly is not.it all depends on the student's motivation.just for good measure,i'll take common sense over an ivy league education.iv'e known too many of those who can't tie their shoes in the morning.many of our beloved leaders in government are from the ivies, and look at the mess this country is in.rest my case.

everybody thinks Duke grads are c***ts. Don't know one I like and one of the most evil (and I mean that literally) people I know is the first to tell you about his Duke degree.

he must be awfully insecure to have to broadcast where he went to school.people who are comfortable in their own skin don't have to brag.

Even more reason to make Lacrosse a D-1 Varsity Sport!!!

Obviously, this guy does not read the rankings in pubs like the Princeton Review or the U.S. News Annual College Rankings ... Clemson is AHEAD of VaTech, NCST, PITT ... actually, there is evidence that these "rankings" are biased anyway ....
Lacrosse ... see a Clemson Guy beat the prep school d-bag from Duke (who's Daddy included a very large donation to the Duke Fund with admission application) over the head with a stick! (they wear helmets, this play is legal)

the reality of the situation is

that the ACC has 3 of the top 20 (or so) schools in the United States---public or private---in the conference right now----Duke, UVa and unc. Boston College, Wake Forest, Miami and GaTech are not far behind those 3.
And really, with the possible exception of FlaSt, you could probably lump the remaining schools all in the next group--ie, Clemson, UMd, VaTech, NCSt.
While it may seem troubling on the surface, considering how much endowment money the top 7 academic schools in the ACC have access to, the academic "bottom half" of the conference are all public schools and--again with the possible exception of FlaSt---all rank in the Top 60 public universities in the nation. Its also worth pointing out that the academic Top 7 (save GaTech--the school Ford built) all have law schools and medical schools---I think BC has a med school--would be surprised to find out otherwise.
Clemson is located in a poor state and for much of the late 20th Century, usuck-oriented legislatures made very public efforts to pigeon-hole Clemson and keep usuck the "flagship" school in the state by limiting Clemson's budgets and denying Clemson efforts to expand its academic offerings both undergraduate and graduate. Those same legislatures didn't do much to increase usucks academic reputation, they simply wanted to keep Clemson as the number 2 school in the state.
They failed......miserably. By its own bootstraps and through affiliations in the public industry sector, Clemson has surpassed usuck academically--by nearly every measuring stick. Still, while Jim Barker's efforts to raise Clemson's academic standing even higher are admirable, the truth is Clemson remains in the "academic bottom half" of the ACC.

A friend of a former g/f of mine went to Duke

He graduated with a music degree and was waiting tables at age 30.
I wanted to study engineering so there was no reason for me to apply to Duke, UNC, or UVa; three of this person's top schools in the ACC. If I were to reformat that list based on MY criteria for the best schools in the ACC, Clemson, GT, VT, and State would be at the top.
I don't know how music majors compare across the league, so I'll leave that up for the Dookies to debate.

And I was torn between GT, Clemson and NC ST as they have some of the best programs. I made the right decision to go to Clemson. Got my degree and am currently working and living good. was very blessed to go to Clemson
