Don't even try to single Purify out as the lone 'nightmare' on this team....There are plenty of candidates that could be given that title depending on which game you are talking about
Purify wasn't the reason we just stranded a runner at 3rd base when we could've taken the lead

Purify is going to be a great ballplayer, but he still has a lot to learn. #1, if youre that deep out in the outfield, let the outfielder make the play.

He didn't say P was the "lone" problem. That is you attributing something to him he didn't say. It's argumentive and a non sequitur.
He was talking about one play and how the player on that play has perfomed this season. It's a sports site, that's what people do on sports sites ... they discuss players and plays. God forbid.
I am sure he would discuss the goods.and bads of other players and the team as well if you would like..just wasn't talking about them on that individual post. And in that post, never suggested say P was the "sole" problem.
And he is right generally speaking. Purify is a good kid who will likely be a great player in time. I trust CEB's assessment of his talent, so looking forward to seeing his development. But he has struggled at times. Especially offensively.

On a short fly ball where the infielder is going out and the outfielder coming in, IT'S THE OUTFIELDER's CALL. If the outfielder doesn't call the infielder off, the infielder stays on the ball. Therefore, if Purify wasn't called off, he should keep going for the ball..........."all the way to the right field wall if the ball is still in the air!"

RF has to be screaming he has it so 2B gets out of way. Didn’t look like either of them were talking on replay.

He will chase one to the right field fence if it stays in the air long enough.

Only way you blame him is if Mathes called him off.. if not he doesn’t know where he is and is just trying to make a play

Yeah considering purify now has 2 RBIs in this game, I don't think he's quite the nightmare you think

Yeah. Similar play vs Miami I think with Purify and Cam in Center. Didn't seem like either player called the other off then as well.
OF's have the better play coming in for those. Are they talking? Calling Purify off? Maybe they just don't see him and aren't expecting his speed and athleticism to get him that deep on those types of plays. Perhaps the 1B and SS can help out more on those directing traffic.

I’ll be 50 this year and have played baseball in HS, Legion, D2 college, 22+ mens league, 35+ league, and now 45+ league. I have coached travel ball, rec ball and HS. Every level is taught that’s the IF ball until OF calls him off. It’s the OF responsibility to take control of that play. I had this exact play happen to me in our league this year. I was playing 2nd. Our RF and I collided on a shallow fly ball. Our RF is a former D1 and minor league OF. First words out of his mouth, once we both regained our senses, were: “man I’m sorry. I should have called you off. I had know idea you could range that far. It’s totally my fault I should have taked”. My guess is Purify’s range surprises out OF from time to time.
